1 lb flour is 4 cups sifted or 3 1/3 cup, unsifted Sugar, granulated 1 lb =2 1/4 cup (A fluid or dry ounce is different from an ounce in weight so don't go by 1 cup measure = 8 ounces in weight)

2 cups Will make a pound.
1 cup equals 8oz and a pound is 16oz
So if you use to 8oz cups of flour it will equal a pound.
I hope it helps. I am not trying to confuse you.

I think it's about 2 or 4 but don't take my work for it. Try working out a ratio of ingredients. Like five parts flour to one part yeast and so on with the recipie you're given. then you can start with the ingredients that you can measure exactly and then figure out how much flour you'll need.
