I have wavy, frizzy, thick hair and I use a CHI straightner (get at any salon) with a comb and Joico's (I think) Silk Therapy (hair has to be dry 1st) and my hair is poker straight until I wash it again. Once you get the hang of it, it now only takes me 15-20 min. to do my hair and my hair is past my shoulders. If you can't afford a Chi straightner, you can try blow drying your hair 1st with a round bristle brush and then using a straightner from like Con-air or something. People have also actually got the iron out.
