can I feed my cockatiel besides bird seed from Petsmart?
Don't they like boiled eggs or something like that?

You can feed your Cockatiel small amounts of 'people' food on occasion. They can have a nibble on crackers, cereal such as cornflakes, hard-boiled egg and wholemeal bread. Also try rice, pasta, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato - these must be offered cooked, not raw.
However, it is suggested that these "treats" are supplements to a regular diet of cockatiel seed mix. Beware of an overabundance of sunflower seeds as the premixes usually contain too many. Sunflower seeds are fattening. It is recommended that you make you're own mix of budgie seed and canary seed then throw in a few sunflower seeds. Always purchase smaller amounts so that the seed is fresh.
You may also choose to feed your bird a pelleted diet instead. That is fine also.
It is also a good idea to offer your cockatiel fresh fruits and veggies. Here'a few suggestions:
"FRUIT:
apple, grape, guava, kiwi fruit, mango, melon, nectarine, orange, peach, pear, pomegranate, plum, strawberry, tangerine, watermelon

VEGETABLES:
bok choy, broccoli, carrot (chopped or grated), celery, chard, lettuce (but small amounts of lettuce and not too often as not a lot of goodness), peas, silverbeet, spinach, sweetcorn, watercress, zucchini.

Favorites with cockatiels tend to be apple, egg, pasta, peas, rice, silverbeet, spinach, sweetcorn.

Note that the fruit and vegetables should be provided:

thoroughly washed
in small pieces
at room temperature
unpeeled
free of cores, stones, pits or pips
raw (some cockatiels prefer certain vegetables cooked eg peas and
sweetcorn - use your judgment here)
fresh (obviously this will be the most nutritious for your cockatiel but
you can use frozen or canned"

Hope this is of some assistance!!!!!!

The options are endless! :) boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, fruit, veggies, crackers.. Mine fancied buttered toast and chips for a rare treat.. Cuddle bones are good to keep in the cage, they come flavoured as well, i believe. Just be sure to stay away from candies and chocolates, things like that... They can be lethal. Also i would reccomend looking up on a nice website about plants that may be harmful, just in case you weren't sure. Best of luck!
