my mom, my grandma, n my grandpa have died from drugd .. my dad got outta jail a lil while ago .. he's been doin really well .. but 6/10 (when my nephew was born) he drank again .. im really scared 4 him .. on top of that he smokes every 5 min .. please help .. how can i stop him? =[

Dear there really is no way for you to stop your father. Drug addiction is a disease,and if your father dosent seek help with treatment of his disease he will most likely keep drinking and drugging. You could sit him down and explain how his drug use effects you and tell him that if he seeks help you will support him through his recovery.other than that.....if he dosent do the work himself there really is no hope. Look up the place U-Turn for Christ on the internet.It is a place for people to get right with there life and with GOD. There is one in Tennessee, South Carolina, California, and New Jersey. Some one i love very very dearly went there and is a totaly new person.

You can't, he will stop when he wants to, the one thing about an alcoholic is that they have to hit bottom before they realize that they are in the wrong...my mom still blames me, my sister, everything else but her drinking for the way her life has gone..and she's 54 years old

i have a brother with same problem but he has been clean for two years. i suggest u get your father to go for counselling, and focus on things he wants in his life besides drugs. when he was young he had dreams, ask him what they are, and that might motivate him to go after them,and leave drugs alone.

i am sure u cant stop him.these peoples doesnot hear anyones problem. i hav one way, call a doctor tell ur problems, and tell doctor to say ur father that ur father will die if he does not giv up those thing.Then i think ur father shud giv up these things.Try it, i will glad, if i help u. my mail is sks20062007@yahoo.co.in
