It's dangerous cause if you fall or something your feet aren't protected. Also, it's harmful to your feet, knees, then back because your arches aren't properly supported and you have no shock absorption.
I wouldn't recommend it!

It is harmful for you to run on a treadmill period.

Treadmills are horrible for the knees and don't give you a good representation of actual running. In real life out on the street or on a track the ground doesn't move underneath you. The performance you get on a treadmill will be drasticly different than if you run regularly outside with real hills and you actual have to push yourself to keep running.

Sorry for that little schpiel but I really dislike treadmills, if you couldn't tell, but to answer your question yes it is harmful for you to run on a treadmill bare-foot because of the friction produced by that rubber mat. Barefoot treadmill running's probably not a very good idea.

well, considering man was made to stand upright and was not intended to where clothes and has the ability to run and we are still here after all these milleniums then I guess its ok.

i would wear a good tennis shoe. it will support your foot better
