The price is reasonable. Pre-existing conditions are not covered.

You don't say where you live??? If you're in the UK, then PetPlan are the best around, unlimited vets fees for life. Most other insurers, such as Direct Line and MoreThan, have a cap.
I'm a vet, and PetPlan are most definately the best to deal with too as they can settle direct which takes away the burden off their owners.
Your retriever is still young so you'd still get a very good deal.

I'm with Pet Plan and find they are very helpful as well as pretty reasonable (Costs) however they do not cover pre existing conditions, do not pay towards vaccinations, microchipping, neutering etc.
I think you should pick up a few leaflets from your vet, check them out (Do not forget small writing) !!! Then make your choice.
Pet Plan works for me, it might work for you then again you might feel happier with another insurance company. Also did you know that PDSA does insurance as well? You pay them same as you would any other company and they pay for your Vet costs, same as other companies. Part of the premium you pay actually go towards funding for their hospitals catering for people who cannot afford to pay Vet fees.
Good luck with your dog!

i'd go with petplan, they cover most stuff and provide full life cover. That means when you renew your claim every year you won't get exemptions for exampleif your dog develops diabetes or suffers a broken leg which later needs mobility treatment. Every one I know who has a dog or cat is with petplan. Very good!
