You use a wrench to screw, or unscrew a bolt. A screwdriver is for screws. Either way you turn it left. Some bolts have reverse threads and would turn the other way to unbolt. Mostly found on machinery and automobiles.

Lefty Loosie, Rightee tightee is the general rule! Counter clockwise to loosen, clockwise to tighten. Be aware of the fact that there are some fasteners that do not follow this rule. You wont find it that often though. These special instances are for design reasons. For example, you will find a bicycle has one pedal with right hand threads and the other has left hand threads, some auto manufactures have left hand threads on their wheel lugs. These instances are for safety. The fellow below me, Bond, is full of it too! Machine screws are categorized under bolting devices!

You don't use a screwdriver to unscrew a bolt, you use a spanner or a wrench.
