there are fifteen balls in pool. 8 is the middle. there are 7 solids, and 7 striped. there is a correlation between the colors. the 1 solid yellow and the 9 (8 plus 1 = 9) is striped yellow. The 3 is solid red; the 11 is striped red. The 7 is solid maroon; the 15 is striped maroon. The 8, being the median, is not matched with another ball.
