Central Middle School is hosting a city-wide ping pong tournament. 20 students signed up for the tournament. Each player plays another; the winner goes on to the next round. Elimination games continue until there is one grand winner.

I agree that there would be 19 games total. 1st round would be 10 games (20 people) then there would be 5 games (10 people). Then there would be 2 games (among 4 of the 5 people left). Then 2 more games among the 3 people left to leave 1 grand prize winner. So that is 10+5+2+2 = 19
Strangely enough because of the odd number the winner could play as little as 3 games or as many as 5 before becoming the Final Winner

20 players split into 10 rounds, the 10 winners play eachother so that is 5 more rounds, then the eliminations, so the best out of 5 play each other......hell i don't know...i am thinking 19........20 players one winner
