I've picked some fresh very large mushrooms from a paddock and are unable to eat them all without them spoiling. No idea whether mushrooms are freezable, never had to freeze em b4.

I did it the other day... instead of letting them go to waste, I sliced them into thirds, placed them into a plastic baggie and put them into the freezer. Last night I took the baggie out, and put the frozen mushrooms directly onto the grille along with some frozen peppers and onions... Served over pasta... they were great!

Of course you can. I've been doing it for years.

Choose mushrooms free from spots and decay. Sort according to size. Wash thoroughly in cold water. Trim off ends of stems. If mushrooms are larger than 1 inch across, slice them or cut them into quarters.

Heat small quantities of mushrooms in a small amount of table fat in an open fry pan until almost cooked.

Cool in air or place pan in which mushrooms were cooked in cold water.

Pack into containers, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Seal, label and freeze.

Some people also steam blanche them. I tried it initially and didn't have good luck. Your mileage may vary.
Some mushrooms, such as Inky Spots, need to be completely cooked, in my experience.

No, the only way is a quick freeze dry that business can do, but home freezing....usually doesn't work well. They turn to mush when thawed.

i think if you cook them first, you should be able to freeze them.

Try it, cook a few then freeze them and thaw them the next day.

Definitely not!
They become quite repulsive when they thaw out.
