Ther's a really, really LONG cultural explanation but this is the abbreviated version.
In German, "Vaterhaus" means your childhood home. It demonstrates how the culture was strongly patriarchal.
The German language also makes the combination of words more suitable. It just does not FEEL right to "Mutterland." And consider, in English, we can say "father land" and it works, but "mother land" does not ("mother country" does). That's why "land" in English is almost never, ever used to decribe a nation or country, as it is in German.

Because Hitler was hung up on masculinity. For example, most ships are referred to as "she", as in "She's a good ship". When Germany launched its famous Bismarck, Hitler declared it should be referred to as "he", since nothing so big and brawny could ever be a "she". Makes you wonder about all those long, lonely nights alone in the bunker with Eva Braun!

i think of it particularly is hypocritical of human beings asserting that they are evaluating him to Hussein whilst those self same human beings pronounced calling George W. Bush Dubya, became ok even although a important sort of them used it in a derogatory way. it particularly is remarkable the hypocrisy and double standards some liberals at right here have.

It might have something to do with the German language. Maybe the masculine rules out the feminine in certain cases.
