And don't say faith as if you believe in something enough to have faith in something you want to be real too badly so your mind makes you think it is real. And don't say the bible as that is just a book not only that but a book which has been changed over time and no one knows when it was written or edited so it is no longer a reliable piece of evidence. Oh and whatever you say prove it.

And how do I prove god exsists?

Read a science book that provides evidence unlike religion that just says well it's written in this book so it must be true despite the lack of evidence.

There is no evidence god exists so he doesn't. You see I have proved god doesn't exist that’s the way the world works if something can't be proven it isn't true.

Ok when you consider the size of the universe it's not coincidence it's probability, we are the way we are because we evolved that way and it is the best way for us to be, and there are still apes in the world because or common ancestor to them some left the jungle and evolved into us and others stayed in the jungle and evolved into the chimps.

Nature didn't happen by accident it evolved that way.

2006-06-14 01:50:44 · update #6

OK why can't you people accept that if there isn't a god then it all didn't happen by ascended! When you consider the size of the universe it's not accident is probability that provides a planet suitable for life and nature is the way it is because that is the best way for it to be that doesn't prove god it proves evolution it evolved that way.

hillbilly_ma... I've stopped reading about half way through because you have been wrong twice evolution isn't just about the idea of removing undesirably traits it's about gaining new ones as well and we have fossil evidence to prove it. Also we never though the Earth was flat that is a common myth just like god it isn't true. People have always known the Earth was round.

I love Jesus247 Evolution can be proved very easily by anyone with a brain. And if there is no evidence for something it isn't true so I can disprove god and jesus and the rest.

Of course there is no proof, nor could there be.

Some of the answers that caught my eye seem to imply that the scientific community is missing the obvious. Perhaps some of these folks would step into the research fray and provide us with some coherent answers to the questions we are working on. It would save a lot of us considerable effort and expense. But you're going to have to give us something more than a wizard that goes "POOF, There's your universe!" Hell, I could get my kid to do better than that.

There is no "proof." Proof is generally accepted to mean observable evidence, experimental results that can be repeated, etc. Those who claim to "know" that god exists are using words incorrectly -- they do not know. By the same token, I don't know (and can't prove) that god *doesn't* exist either. Just the fact that human beings exist is not proof of god, there is a perfectly logical, observable, testable path for the evolution of humans from earlier life forms on the planet, for which there is considerable evidence. There is also no evidence (or proof) that a supernatural force of any kind (god or anything else) has ever intervened in the formation of the universe, our solar system, our planet, and any of the life that exists here. There's no "need" for god to explain how the world works, and no proof of his existence, relegating questions about god to superstition and myth.

Nature: it's perfect. Space: the way everything is perfectly spaced apart. If anything in our solar system were even an inch one way or the other, we would't be here. Chance can't do that. The Human Body: everything about us and how our body works is too complex to have been left to sludge. If we had ever been monkeys, there wouldn't be any monkeys left. By the way, the Bible has not been changed over time. The original scrolls get retranslated as more understanding of the ancient tongues grows and can be expounded upon.

I highly recommend the book "Case for a Creator" by Lee Strobel. Easy read but technical enough to be challenging. Also, look around you!!! Where did the complexity of the natural world come from? Could random chance create, for example, the eye? A sense of humor? Love? The DNA code, which is actually a language? Who made that up? The Bible speaks to creation itself being proof of God: "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. " (Romans 1:20)

Hope this helps!

Basically, the presence can be only experienced. So, providing proof to another person is difficult UNLESS the other person is ready to do what ever is necessary for being ready to experience. Books, religious teachings do not help much. What they called as enlightenment etc happened outside churches or other religious temples, places etc. Look at it this way. If there is God, he has to be also inside/within you. So it should be possible to experience Him. Easier to search within. Most of the time, we are not aware of our farther limbs like toes, fingers etc. So gross is our level of self-awareness. So, it is a question of just deepening our levels of awareness to an extent when newer dimensions of life opens up and then there is nothing that remains hidden, and such questions get dissolved (and not merely Resolved !)

I have seen the Lord work in my life. His angels saved my children and I when an idiot cut us off on a crowded highway. I overcorrected when I tried to avoid this dude and lost control of my car. I spun around and next thing I knew, the car was safely parked on the shoulder and my children, myself, and my car were not hurt. I was completely unaware of how we ended up there safely. A pure miracle in my book! I know my driving did not save us because traffic was going over 80 miles per hour (remember it was a crowded highway) ... If it weren't for the Lord sending his angels at that moment, then I would not be here to testify to this today. I have also experienced other moments in my life, but that would take up so much more space than I have here... I know God is real because of these things he has done- answered prayers, preventing a suicide attempt... So many other things.
Seeing is believing... You are right. I find it sad that you have not seen the Lord work in your own life so that you could beleive in him yourself. Maybe your questioning is a way God is trying to reach you. Won't you try to find Jesus? Then you, too, can share in the seeing of His miracles and having His angels protect you.

There is no proof for God. Any so called of God can be used to prove anything you want to beleive in a some all powerfull creator. How about Zeus, Ra the sun god, or even the Great Patato just to name a few Gods from the past.

Not everything can be proven in scientific or physical terms. God covers all that stuff that just doesn't make sense, like the reason that you - a giant organic being undergoing a series of biochemical reactions - are able to have conscious thought. How do you explain that?
Prove that you exist.

Existance is not proof of god. And also there is no proof that god exists, but also we don't have a proof that he doesn't exist. So i think it's possible that he is somewhere out there or he is just imagination of peeps.

All reasoned arguments rely on axioms, i.e. things which we take to be true, but which are not amenable to proof. The most obvious example of an axiom is the validity of reason itself - It is trivially obvious that we can't use a reasoned argument to prove that reason is valid, because we have to presume that reason is valid in order to make any kind of reasoned argument.

I have another axiom, which I'm sure no sane person would dispute: That the order and complexity that we see around us in the natural universe, and particularly in the intricate structure and functions of living organisms, could not possibly just exist fully formed, with no cause, no origin, no precursor of any sort. I can't *prove* that this is the case, but it seems inconceivable to me that anyone would dispute it.

So, the logical consequence of accepting this axiom is that, for the very same reason, it's not possible that the order and complexity of the universe is sourced in an intelligent deity who designed and made the universe and *himself* exists fully formed with no cause, no origin, no precursor of any sort. I don't think any reasonable person would dispute the axiom presented here, and acceptance of the axiom leads to an indisputable proof of the non-existence of an intelligent creator.

Anyone who (against all reason) asserted that the order and complexity we see in the universe *could* indeed exist fully formed with no cause and no origin, in order thereby to save the concept of an uncaused intelligent designer, would find that they had invalidated said designer by making him redundant - i.e. if the order and complexity of the universe could just exist fully formed and uncaused then it would not need (in fact, could not possibly have) a designer to cause it to exist.

Either way, the concept of a creator is invalidated.

If you really want an answer to your question, I would suggest a book called "The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. Josh was an atheist who believed all Christians had set aside all logic and reasoning in order to trust in God. He set out to prove beyond any doubt that Christians had no substance behind their beliefs. After years of research (documented in this book), Josh came to the conclusion that the only logical choice, based on evidence (scientific, archaeological, and historical) was that there is a God, and the He is the God of the Bible.

Now, Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. He predicted His own death and ressurection, proving that He had power to lay down His life and to raise it up again. Certainly I know of no other person to do this. Also, over 60 Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled through 1 person, Jesus Christ. We have original documents written 100 - 150 years before Christ (in the Dead Sea Scrolls) that document these prophecies in great detail.

Above, I have listed non-biblical reasons for a faith in God. Here is my Biblical reason.

Romans 1:20-24
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen

You see, everyone is "without excuse" for not believing in God. Look around you. Design is everywhere. Evidence for God is everywhere. So, we are without excuse. But because of our pride, we try to explain away what has already been revealed.

So, God exists, and deep down you understand that. You may reject it now, but someday we will all give an account for how we lived our lives on earth. Jesus came to earth as the ultimate sacrifice for you and me, and allowed His own death in my place. He laid down His life, then took it up again. He said He was coming back, but next time He comes it will be as a Judge, not as a sacrifice, and every knee will bow to Him. The wheat will be separated from the chaff and eternity awaits us all.

The stakes are too high to gamble with this question. God does exist, and He is a just God. Every person will recieve their just reward or punishment.
