Really...what is the point of using 'x' instead of 'ks'?

I use thanx more often than thanks, it is not a matter of being or having clever fingers, or stupid fingers, I basically use it when I talk to someone I am familiar with, when I am at work I use the word thanks more often than thanx.

Thanks - I use with clients not wanting to be too familiar with them
AND
Thanx a a form of endearment I use with my children, and other loved ones. Nothing wrong with using it, it just means we think further than most, when we use thanx it does NOT mean we are lazy either.

I learned the symbolic abreviation of "Thanks" as "thxs" as part of and extensive trainning for a courier company, and when I ask the trainer why? He said: " We are always running against the clock, most of us (americans) are always in a rush, and want everything fast, including emails, that is why we have created a complete list of these abreviations to make our life and work system easier" The bad part is that I end up learning more words in order to be able to fit in the daily work routing of the company. Imagine words such as: "ppwrk instead of paperwork", "inbd" "outbd" for inbound and outbound, "trvl" for travel, etc etc.

There is no point in that, only if you type "thx" instead of "thanks".
I usually do that because it's easier, i save time and people understand what i mean by "thx"

I think that "saving time" is an excuse.Probably, people living in countries without history need time to bild one. But,for European countries, TIME means history and a lot of culture. And history and culture are not for sale.

Yes, they probably do think it "cool", but the factual truth is, they are just plain "LAZY"......

What it really proves is the intelligence behind their fingers...ZIP!

Wait till they try and get a job with that spelling.
