A Maine Coon male runs between 16 and 20 pounds (more than that is not healthy) while a female is smaller, between 12 and 18 pounds. They are independant, great hunters, almost never lose a fight and like people. Another breed that is close is the Norweigan Forest cat.

Maine coons vary in size. Mine was 21 pounds and slightly larger than a pug dog. Some can run up to 25 pounds, but it's not truly healthy. Try visiting your local Petsmart or shelter. Maine coons are more populous than you think and you can see a few of them in person.

I have/had Maine Coons.
I had a male that was 20 lbs.
The females are somewhat smaller but are large, too.
They have a very big frame and bone structure and usually are
a tall cat.
I love this breed, they are very unique, have dog-like traits, very playful, large cat, but very gentle, quiet loving breed.
You will like them.
Sorry have no picture of any standing up, only laying down.
