well, religion or no religion, people will still kill one another over their beliefs, and people will always have strong beliefs of one sort or another. You can't "get rid of" religion. It's not like some legislature can vote it out of existence or have its license revoked- it lives in the minds of the vaaaast majority of the world's populations, as I think pure atheists constitute a very small minority. There is a void in the human psyche that arose when our neoxortexes developed the ability of rational thought, and that is "what are we here for and where do we come from?" Our inquisitive minds served us well in becoming a dominant species, but the catch of having a rational mind is that the species, as a whole or as individuals, have to come to grips with that unanswerable question. Religion is the cure to that human ailment, as well as something that offers much-needed social and moral guidance. It won't be done away with. And besides, I think a lot of allegedly religious conflicts actually stem from geopolitics. Terrorists don't attack countries just because they're Islamic... they attack countries because they place economic sanctions on Arab nations, or lend support to their bitter arch-enemies in Israel, or other such things. The IRA stuff has a religious mask to it, but really I think it's just as much a question of a desire for autonomy by the southern Irish, just like how the Scottish fought so adamantly for their independance. Religious differences help harden feelings during a conflict, but usually the conflict stems from geopolitics and global economy.

All organised religions are evil in the name of God. Faith is a personal matter, as personal as one's toothbrush which one does not like to share with others. But the organised religious groups have divided the entire mankind into groups of believers and non-believers. As a result, they are fighting among each other in warring camps, again in the name of God.

The term evil is supernatural it self. So using it is promoting what you deem evil.
t suggests that there is good and bad out there floating above all that is natural and real, in an alternative universe.
Yes anyone who promotes alternative universes, life after death etc. Is directly facilitating the destruction of mankind. They know not what they do either. That is the worst part.

Sweetie,
Religion itself did not cause all those things. It was because of some very misguided individuals interpretations of religion.
Everyone that I know, who truly understands religion gains great peace from it.
No offense, but you really should think things through before making such statementsl There are some very impressionable people out there. And, trust me....a life without God in it, is much more peaceful and richer, than one without him.
Don't cheat yourself, and any other impressionable person by saying such things.
God bless!

"If we got rid of religion think of how much evil would be gone from the world".
And that is exactly where the world is headed! Religion is being taken out of everything (where have you been) schools, government, work, etc.
And it's all predicted in the Bible, watch and see!!!

There are a lot of different "religions". Are you lumping them all together and calling them evil. Yes, you probably are. That's okay. I don't have a problem with that.
It's not religion, per se, that's evil. Man is evil. When there is an absence of God, there is going to be evil. The people who are and have perpetrated these vile things, did not have God in their heart. God is not evil nor does He condone evil.

You just destroyed your own theory. It's not religion, it's people.
Religion is an abstract. It cannot of its own accord do anything either good or bad. It needs a human interface.
People kill people... they always have and for a hundred different reasons. Even without religion, people would still kill people.
Back to the drawing board.

I have to agree that many wars and injuries have been inflicted in the name of religion. But there is one thing out there that exceeds and rises above it all. Jesus Christ. It's not about religion with Him. It's about a relationship. Now let me ask you a question...don't you have something better to do than make people feel crappy?

Religion is evil..... Faith in God, however is not. what keeps you doing moral things if you have no creator to answer to when it's all over?. Why not just go wild? you only live once...
I don't go out of control becuse that would be shameful to my God who gave his son for me. the peopl who participted in the things you list will asnwer to God for what they've done nd will be dealt with accordingly for dragging his name throught the mud.
