why are muslims not allowed to convert to a different religion?

If you read the answers carefully you will notice a convergence of philosophical zealotry between the Christians AND Muslims. For example, there is no meaningful difference between the opinions of "mike", "in_a_state_of_insanity" and "byefareed," even though 2 seem to be Muslims and 1 a Christian.

Luckily, in most "Christian" countries the secular adversaries of theocracy have by and large won out. But don't kid yourself, many Christians, as this forum can attest to, would like nothing better than to have a country "ruled by Christian principles."

The Muslim laws against conversion are one more reminder of what happens when the backward tendencies of dogma, any dogma, are allowed to seep into, and corrupt, the policies of human government.

Yes, they are allowed to convert. But there is a very slim chance that a Muslim would convert to any other religion cause they already know Islam is a true religion. Anyhow, they can convert as long as they don't disgrace and misguide people by giving them wrong information about islam. I hope this answers your question. Peace

Well , if you are Muslim from the start, Islam is considered the last and true religion in the world.

That's why its not allowed to convert.

No one stops them. They are scared to convert to other religions because they may be killed by a fatwa. Still there are some couragious among Muslims who have got themselves converted to other religions. Many have got converted by marrying non-Muslims mostly Muslim girls. It is the religion that makes them cowards.

Many non-believers take an intellectual approach at refusing the Lord's Salvation. Their rationalization that salvation is for weak minded losers who can't handle their own problems and need a crutch is a dangerous thought contrary to the Word of God.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

An interesting part of this scripture is use of the words "every" knee and "every" tongue. The word "every" means weak minded losers and corporate presidents, academic geniuses, world leaders and mega-millionaires and anyone else drawing breath. The Word paints with a wide brush its picture of who shall give account of himself to God.

When the Apostle Paul wrote this he was not making up a story. When he said "it is written", he was quoting God. Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

You must understand "the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return," means what it says. He cannot and is not going to change his mind.

Now that we have determined salvation is not for sissies, let's get to the good part.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

You cannot be talked into making a decision for the Lord. Jesus said God will draw you. Take heed to your thoughts. Satan is pulling at you constantly with his deadly assertion that "there is not hurry. Enjoy yourself and worry about God later on." The evil one is very much involved in making sure you stay away from that Jesus stuff.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

The Lord, however, is a gentleman. He will gently nudge at your heart and allow the Holy Spirit to draw you in the right direction. It is important to yield to that that call before it is too late. When you do, good things will start to happen. Misery will turn to peace, joy will replace agony and the love of God will begin consuming your hurts.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

According to this scripture, there is no measure of the peace you will have. Even you will have trouble grasping it because God's peace is a peace beyond our understanding.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Just as you will be unable to understand the peace in your heart, there will be not words to describe the joy you have received. What a marvelous gift from the giver of all givers. Amazingly, it is all free. Your peace and joy was bought and paid for by Jesus Christ on a cross at Calvary.

Another reason people have refused the call of the Lord is because they think God is too loving and caring to send them to hell. They simply are missing the boat with that thinking. God never sent anyone to hell. People send themselves to hell by not accepting God's free gift of salvation.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

The bible clearly says we have a choice. By not accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior you are making a conscious decision to choose hell over heaven. God gives you the options and then suggests you take the "life" route. Imagine what it would be like trying to explain away that scripture when you are on the judgement seat.

God wants you just the way you are. He will meet you at your level and, over time, will promote you to a better life. You do not have to quit doing all those things people keep telling you to quit doing. The Lord will clean you up His way and in His time. All you have to do is give Him something to work with. Give Him your heart and you won't believe what He will give back.

The bible says we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The "all" means those weak minded losers and other guys mentioned earlier. It means you. Today is the day and right now is the time for the Lord to see your knees and your tongue in action.

Salvation is a very personal thing. You can go head-to-head with the Lord and He will respond. Simply admit you are a sinner. Repent from your sinful ways. Ask for his forgiveness. Welcome Him into your heart as your personal savior.

When you do that, tell somebody. It will be your first chance to glorify the Lord by speaking His name to another person
