We have only met once and in a group situation

1) he was interested in my life and what I had to say
2) he kept looking and smiling at me
3) he was tactile at one point he made an excuse to touch my leg we were just sitting in the pub with the group at others he would offer me his hand to help me up and down a step
4) he has been in contact since we met on a very superficial hows your week been basis although havent heard from him for a few days now
5) he has mentioned meeting up again but not actually asked me out

How do I know if he is being friendly as I am new to the area and he is a local or if he is actually interested in me.

He is single and a genuine person. Our mutual friends say he is not a player but how do I know?

He is definietly interested. The question is whether he will act on it. You need to make it easy for him to do so without looking or acting desperate. Be fun friendly and easy to be around and see what happens.

It sounds like he is definitely interested. What else does the poor guy have to do?.. think how frustrated he must be. He is expressing interest, he has told you he would like to see you again. He calls you often to see how you are settling in. He has demonstrated he likes you and is 'interested' in you by touching, smiling and looking at you. He is obviously interested in you as a person by asking about your life to date. He is showing you he is genuine by being courteous... Why not call him and take him up on his offer to meet up for a drink/bite to eat and take it from there. It doesnt have to be a 'date' as such but it may well turn out to be one or lead to one. Perhaps he is not sure that you are 'interested' in him. Please, remember guys can be shy &/or not pick up the signals too. Go for it and I hope it leads to happiness for you both.

He is interested, as he casually mentioned meeting up with you, but perhaps felt that you may say no, so he didn't ask you outright for fear of rejection. Arrange to meet him again in a group situation and arrange a 1-2-1 whilst your there. If it doesn't happen, then move on. Good luck!

Sounds like a perfect gentleman...

Maybe the best thing to do, is ask HIM out.... Nothing wrong with a lady doing that... ;)

Only way to know for certain... And be open with him...

all u can do is to get to know his very well, u can study him for a while becos if u r a chicken, u will always remain a chicken no matter what, just open ur eyes, but dont listen to hearsay becos people might even be jealous.

He will tell you himself if he is interested in a relationship with you, but if it is only you who is interested in him, then you better start making situations to send a message to him that you like him and I am sure he will respond.
