Need for sleep goes down with age. If you are a child you would sleep 9-10 hours, a teenager and adult 8 hours, an older person on average 6 hours.

Sleep like sex and food can be additive. The more you have the more you want. Because of the psychological problems that came from sleep deprivation experiments, they were banned in the seventies. However in the army i was told i was allowed a minimum of four hours in ever theory. This however often causes a belligerent aspect, probably what they wanted. A university professor in the 80's ? did some self experiments and found he survived with no loss of mental capability on five hours a night. I usually aim for six hours a night to stop my mood from becoming unpleasant. Less than 4 hours in thirty and i have hallucinations so not recommended. The less you sleep the more you live? The short answer is you need less sleep than you think. Sleep; those little tastes of death, how i loath them!

Depends on how old you are.. They say 8 hours is average. Sometimes, I feel like I need 10 hrs sleep and sometimes only 6. Can't hardly make it on less than that.

As much as you can get... They say 8 hours a night is normal... But people like Napoleon survived perfectly well on 4 hours a night...

Other people need 10-12 hours... maybe you should go to bed when you are sleepy and see when you wake up...

depends on youe age
if you are below 5 yrs - 12 hrs sleep
if you are within 5 to 25 you need 7 hrs
if you are 25 plus : try to sleep 6 hrs
if you are above 60 years ... sleep 5hrs a day

now last twist: if you sleep more than that, nothing wrong will happen ... only your day will be shorter than those who follow my suggestion :)
