While "a man" is an amusing answer and I don't think there's actually been a study on this, foreignorange gave the answer I was going to give. You might also consider a dog that is the most like you, so that whatever girl you attract will be one that likes your type.
However, please do your research on the breed and ensure the dog suits your lifestyle and that you are aware of its needs. Don't get a dog you will get rid of once you get your girl, 'cause she won't like that....

There is no straight answer for this question, but you should first think about the type of woman you want to attract. A sporty girl? Get an australian shepard or lab. A prissy girl? Get a lap dog or something extra furry. A low maintanaince girl? get a great dane or simple hound. An energetic go-get em girl? Try any sort of terrier or a retired grayhound. Good luck!

Fluffy dogs. They show that you real have to work to maintain it. The fur needs to be brushed. You can get a small dog to show you like to protect things. Like nothing smaller then a pug though. You would probably look a little odd walking down the street a little dog you can fit in the palm of you hand. Try one of those Hypoallergenic dogs. There fur turns blue in the fall. That way no girl is allergic to it.

In my area it seems to be different tastes. some like a dog for protection like a shepherd of lab and some want a small breed like poodle or Maltese

It depends...if this person is older they usually like smaller dogs...but every college chic I've ever seen has a big dog. It makes them feel secure!

the ones i hate- small breeds! i like small dogs but they are always so yappy and hyper!! they look cute but you will never see me owning one!! i my self like big dogs!! they are way quieter and not to jumpy!!
