try adding 1 shot of kalhua or tia maria for variation, similar to a black russian, but still with the great taste of coke!!

or for a proper cocktail which will shock your friends, try a 'Gorilla Snot'

1 measure tia maria or kalhua
1 measure creme de menthe or any mint liquer
1 measure baileys irish cream

mix these well in a shaker with ice, then pour into a large glass, add coke, but don,t fill more than 75% of glass, then sit back and watch as coke reacts with other ingredients and flows over top of glass, creating a rather nasty 'snot' effect-but tastes great,
drink through a straw, but make sure you have a spoon handy cos if you don't finish it within 10mins,it starts to solidify!never ceases to amaze people!just stir with spoon and it returns to liquid!

The obvious answer is a Rum and Coke. If you use Malibu rum, it gives it a pretty wicked flavor.

If you're intent on using vodka, though, my favorite is a Black Russian. Need it a bit softer on the palate, do a White Russian.

The Black Russian is just 1 shot kahlua, 1 1/2 shots vodka on ice.

For a White Russian, add either milk or cream to fill up your rock glass, and give it a good stir.

If you're looking for something a bit more chocolatey, you can always mix your Russian using a chocolate liqueur such as Godiva instead of Kahlua.

If you like coffee, there's no reason you can't make an iced coffee with a lot of liqueur.

You could always take a shot of kahlua, two shots of baileys, a bit of coffee and simple syrup, and shake them together over ice. Again, sub Godiva for the Kahlua if you want that chocolate zing.

Another favorite of mine is the Amaretto sour. Basically get yourself a nice sour mix, some Disaronno or Amaretto di Amore and mix them over ice in whatever quantities you want (I'm pretty lethal when it comes to alcohol, so I sort of obligingly wave the bottle of sour mix at the glass to let it know I'll use it one day).

Speaking of which, can't go wrong with a good martini.

I could give you liquor ideas until the cows came home... and then tell you how to use their milk to keep your buzz going longer.

If you'd like more ideas, feel free to email me and ask for more. =)

If you like vodka and Coke, it seems as though you want a drink that, while it packs a punch, doesn't really have a booze-y taste.

If I'm right on that one, and you're looking for something a little more uptown, I would head straight for an Apple Martini (recipe varies by bar), which has both of the qualities mentioned above, yet has a little more bling than an anything-and-coke

My cousin introduced me to a variant on Vodka and Coke. Get Vanilla Vodka and mix it with Dr.Pepper, Vanilla Coke, or Black Cherry Vanilla Coke. They're all very good, and they add a little kick to your average Vodka and Coke.

Also, try Yager and Red Bull. My husband likes that. It's pretty bitter, but if you can stand the taste, then you'll be drunk in no time flat.

I would suggest Captain Morgan and Coke.

Maybe a Colorado bulldog - vodka, kaluha, cream or milk, and a splash of pepsi or coke - very good!!

I like UV Blue vodka with 7up or lemonade.

Or try Bacardi Limon with 7up or lemonade.

My new drink of choice has been Crown Royal and Ginger Ale, it is often mocked by my friends until they try it. I have turned many to a Crown and Gingerale drinker. Try it, I think you'll enjoy it. Either that or Jack Daniels Single Barrel and Coke, sure Jack Daniels will go just fine, but single barrel makes it so much better.

Vodka and lemonade
Malibu and Coke
Bacardi and Coke
Archers and Lemonade
Martini (any type) and lemonade
Try various cocktails when you go out
Wine
Cider (but proper stuff, not Strongbow, Blackthorn, White Lightning or Woodpecker type stuff)
Seeing as it's summer (here in Britain anyway) Pimms and lemonade with bits of fruit, cucumber and mint floating in it, sounds weird but is SO summery!
