As a aunt of 2 young nieces, i know little gals like dolls, a birthday celebration or you can bring your little niece for an excursion. She will surely like it. Y not try to bring her to see the latest "Cars" movie, she will surely jump for joy. Hope my answer will help you. Good Luck!

I know this is boring, but you can't go wrong with clothes. My wife gets my niece clothes and accessories for birthdays - mostly because I'm clueless - it involves a lot of pink, bows, pink bows, fluffy dresses, shiny hairclips, mary jane shoes with flowers, tops and bottoms, mostly co-ordinated. Personally, I think it's a great idea, because my sister is too busy and practical to splurge on the more indulgent clothes, so once a year we try to spoil my niece with the whole pink experience.

all the above suggestions are good ones. But here's a suggestion, write her a really long letter like about how much she's grown and what's happened the past year all...and do this for every birthday until she's 18 or something...and then give her the letters on her 18th birthday...now thats priceless...it'll be good.

lol. Just ask her. I bet she has a list of about a gazillion things that she wants. If the birthday is this summer, I always buy a big bag of summer time fun things, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, water balloons, kites, balls, frisbees, a sprinkler to run through, sunglasses, etc. You can get a lot of things at the dollar store and then just buy the one bug thing.........like the sprinkler at a toy st ore.

You must give your affection in your niece birthday. Also you may give gold ornament which will be helpful to your niece in future life.

I have a 4 year old daughter and she loves anything that has Disney Princess characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or Jasmine.....dolls, clothes, cups, plates, stickers, coloring books, etc, etc!

I usually give books. Popup books are very special and something they can use on their own. Bedtime story books are also another type thats good. Reading is one of the most important things in a childs young life.

What is her favourite thing that she seems to like to do when you are around her? Think about it and get her something to do with that.
Or take her shopping, watch what she likes, then casually tell the salesperson to wrap it, pay for it quietly and have the store put it aside for you to pick up later

Actually a four year old should be fairly easy to buy for. Toys, book, crayons and color pencils should all be fine. If you budget allows then bicycles/tricycles?
