It's considered a means of shouting in text, and using capitals does have a bit of of impact.
Consider this:
1 YOU ARE BEING RUDE!
2 You are being rude!
Ask yourself which one seems a bit more aggressive. It's just the way it comes across is all.

Capitals are known as shouting, thats why its considered rude.
You can change the way that your web browser displays so that the type is bigger. But you'll need the Firefox Browser from Mozilla. Download Firefox from this address;
http://www.mozilla.com/
then log off the internet and install it.
Then go to the Tools option at the top of the page, choose Options.
A box will open, click the Content icon ( a globe). You can choose the font and the size.
I'd suggest Arial size 14 or 16. Then click ok, click the Refresh button to reload the page and see how you get on.
If you usually use Internet Explorer, you'll be surprised at how difficult it is to do; you need to write a style sheet instead of just clicking a button. So much for accessibility.

Just keep practising. It gets easier. Good luck and congratulations for giving it a go! I don't know why it would be considered "rude" to type in capital letters, maybe a computer wizard may be able to answer that for you, I am no wizard, I need my 13 year old son to help me do things on the computer.

It is generally considered in email and the like that using all capitals indicates shouting, so therefore it is considered rude and best avoided. But, if you find it OK to write in all lower case, as you have in this question, that is just fine. I hope you enjoy Yahoo! Answers.

You did really well. They should work just as well. By using capital letters, it usually means shouting, and since there are too many people who feel that, I usually try to avoid it, unless I'm trying to make a point. But you go ahead and type however you want. Tough **** to people who don't really know the English Language anyway. And who seem to think that it's a pesonal attack. LOL
Peace.

Its just a modern thing that if you type in capitals it suggests shouting. If you can read this then you don't really need to use capitals but if you have trouble maybe you could email Yahoo and explain your problem.

By typing completely in capitals it is a bit like shouting or being incredibly angry. Many people use it to emphasise a word especially when there is no bold/underline/italic option.
Perhaps you should contact Yahoo and tell them the problem, they, may rectify inorder to improve accessibility. I hope that you continue to use the internet and this service and that it hasn't put you off.
