I am a white woman who is talking to a black man...he isnt like my BF or anything...right now we are just "good friends"....he lives in another town from me.....but came to see me on Mon.....& we went to the mall to hang out.....we got quite a few stares, but nothing major....he is a VERY good looking man....belongs on the cover of GQ type of man......I am an overweight woman, but to him it doesnt matter....so, yeah, we were quite the odd couple...lol...but it wasnt like we were hanging on each other or making out....just holding hands & walking around the stores....we stopped & had lunch.....then we walked some more......we overheard a few snide remarks.....but nothing to hateful...it was mostly about the color difference....I really like him...& I am not going to stop seeing him over this....I am in a small town full of College Kids.....he is in a bigger town...we didnt have this problem in his town.....could it be the people in this town....or our color difference?

we could be sisters! you have just described my life to a T. except, i am dating the black man. people will be @$$holes about it in a small town (mine is full of red necks) just brush it off, if you are happy, thats all that matters.

Yes I think it is both the color difference and the town. I have got the stares as well and it isn't nice! But I guess it doesn't matter what other people think... even if this guy becomes your BF, all that matters is that both you and him won't have second thoughts because of the stares of un-accepting strangers... And being from a small town maybe they don't realize that this is how life has become...tradition/culture/race is no longer the boundaries of love...it has none!
Good luck, and don't give in!

There's nothing wrong with dating inter-racially. People will always talk. Even if the man is white too they'll probably still make snide comments about age, height or weight differences. The thing is to always look for joy and happiness in whatever you do. Trying to please the world is a herculean task and i strongly advise against it. My boss is a white man married to a black woman and things are not always rosy. They have found a way of laughing at people who are small-minded enough to think their relationship is wrong.

all of us has a series of middle beliefs that make up the international as they understand it. some people have a strong opinion of interracial relationship/marriages/unions in protecting with unfavorable thoughts that they themselves would have had. Others were possibly only raised to trust that that's easier and more desirable perfect to marry interior of their own race. I too, do no longer trust that love will be managed through a color of a persons' epidermis. yet I also completely comprehend which could no longer all of us's perception. what's sturdy for someone else isn't inevitably sturdy for me and vice-versa.

there's really nothing wrong with that... dont mind what other people would say... youre not dating them. Youre dating your bf.. and I think that is all that matters in the world... just go to places where people respect other people's preferences...

Who knows, maybe your imagination. People don't seem to be very concerned with other peoples lives anymore. More or less do what you feel like doing in this world. Go for it, if thats your desire....
