Although in the U.S. and west in general it has alot to do with selling products.
Women are the largest consumer group and are fascinated by sexuality for some reason.

from what i think, the biggest sex organ is the human brain.. hence, sex isnt really a driving force, its what the mind dictates..
at times, it could be used both as a tool or a weapon depending on the intention of the person who initiates it...
yes, it could be driving force somehow because most people think only of skin and of appearances... and perhaps because the media is the thing which is at fault here... sex is glamorized and sensationalized tremendously,,,, its the lack of imagination that actually making it a driving force... which superimposes other greater driving forces as well

Because procreating is one of mans most basic instinvts, like the one od survival. Plus it's pleasing and exciting and people tend to do a lot for stuff they find pleasing...
