Not only the Bible but epics all over the world says that. You know all the technological advancements makes easier the destruction...pollution of the world and the hole at ozone...which caused this...the destruction is a natural process...all animal dies...the plants...even minerals destroy...then why not the universe...after all its a macrocasm...so it takes more time...but it will bloom again...with different species...
the problem of boundary arises out of our ignorant...because we have been taught wrongly about boundaries...every country has its own boundary...but who created that..only ourselves...but there is no such boundary exists...we only formed shapes and gave it a name..square..oval..etc..but they really never exists..
so we have been misintepreted and mistaught...we have to diseducate ourselves...to know more about this

Everything which has a beginning has to have an end..that is the nature's rule and nothing can be excluded from this rule.. beyond our world I think there are many other worlds like ours...lakhs and lakhs of lightyears away from us..and in one such galaxy there might one such planet as earth where life exists..

Total destruction of this world..it's happened before with the flood, the fire comes this time.
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Rev 21:2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
(Rev 21:3) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
(Rev 21:4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(Rev 21:5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
(Rev 21:6) And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
(Rev 21:7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
(Rev 21:8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

There is a beginning, the word of God said so.
The world will surely come to an end, the word of God said so.
When God say yes no man can say no, not even man's inventions because God is far and above all wisdom of man, He is above all wonders of the world, He is above everything that this world has ever known.

The universe is infinite, so there is really no start or end. The Earth will eventually be no more when the sun desides to go supernova, but you won't ever have to worry about that :)

Even scientists believe the universe started with an explosion or a big bang. It happened once. Why not again?
