I have 2 children and 1 on the way. The absolute worst pain I've ever been in was when I had nerve pain due to a horrible toothache. No joke. A normal toothache, no big deal but I don't think anything could be worse than nerve pain. ETA: I've never gone through labor without an epidural so I can't compare those 2.

I took co-codamol when i had bad toothache.
Also rubbed tooth tinture on my gums. Thats the name of the product but its clove oil. Also try teething gel rubbed onto the gum, i find it works better than bonjela.

As long as you don't suffer from asthma or gastric problems, I would recommend ibuprofen. This can also be taken with paracetamol. Dihydrocodeine and co-codamol come in varying strengths and should be prescribed by your doctor. Both useful but can cause constipation and nausea. However, see your dentist.

you might be better off taking an anti inflammatory like nurofen as well as painkillers
Oil of cloves is also very good and sometimes holding a hot water bottle to your face helps
really a visit to the dentist is the best bet though

dihydracodine!! but be careful they will knock you out. Go to the dentist, you maybe have an infection. The dentist will give you antibiotics the get rid of it, otherwise you will be taking stuff for the pain only and not getting rid of the real problem.
