I think that tradition dictates that men should ask women. But, more modern women feel more comfortable asking the men.

They actually do when they can't seem to hold back the ergo. Naturally it's for men to ask. However, nowadays most cute guys are becoming too shy to ask. Women do ask though they are never as plain as the men; they'll rather put on a subtle expression for the guy to read and then take the first step. So in the nutshell, it would seem like they never did. Why put on the mask? The fear of not being considered as 'cheap' or taken for granted by the guy.

Modern women do ask men out. Women that don't are a little more traditional and perhaps less evolved in a way. Don't forget, women do not want the man to think that she's easy and loose, so she'll put up a shield to protect herself from this assumption. In general women will use subtle indirect (sometimes flirtly) ways to let you know that they want to go out with you.

Women do ask men out but they are often more subtle. A good tactic is to make the man think that it was his idea all along by manouevering him into a position to ask the woman out. It is more traditional in western culture for the man to ask the woman.

Well, as a guy - We'd love women to ask us out - I've asked girls over the years - the same answer comes back - "If they like me - they'll ask me out" - but men can be shy as well - why dont women stop playing games - if they like a guy - ask him out - if he doesnt want to go - who cares - find someone who does. Life is too short to play games..

i asked a guy out, he said yes so i took him for a drink, he enjoyed himself we both did. the drinks and conversation was flowing and our body language suggested we fancied one another. towards the end of the night i knew he wanted sex but we both went our separate ways. he called me the next day saying that he enjoyed my company and its all about the spontaneous approach but found me forward which he liked. i havent seen him again and i must add i bought all the drinks. would i do it again maybe, hence i like men to ask me out and lead the way. men like to lead in all situations it makes them feel safe and in control women make the quick decisions.

1) they fear rejection just as much as men
2) some think if they do that the man wont stay with them long term as he didnt do the chasing

they do however send signals for men to approach which is at least meeting you half way

Alot do- Myself for example but I'd rather them ask me. Girls often don't ask guys out because they are shy and think that they'll get rejected.
