After serving 25 mths of a 30 mths sentence for his role planning the 2002 Balinese bombings which killed 202 people, including 88 Australians, he is now free to resume teaching at the Islamic boarding school he founded. Hundreds of his supporters shouted 'Alluh Akbar' (God is great) upon his release from gaol yesterday. Can anyone tell me how great Islam is now ?? Where is the justice for the families of the people who lost loved ones to this senseless and meaningless act. If anyone can justify this I would be very interested....

i am with you - just another reason we should all boycott travel to Indonesia if you ask me. Either that or our government should allow our life serving prisoners freedom to go to Indonesia for life as long as they take him down and stay there.
I cannot imagine being a friend or a relative of one of the victims......my heart goes out to them all - the victims were just doing the same thing we all do - going out having fun. I hope he gets what is coming to him.......

Even though probably he is responsible for the attack, I’d call this a positive piece of news.
Why was he released? Because there were no proofs against him. Some of his mates were sentenced to death.
THIS is democracy. Although Indonesia has still got a lot to improve, isn’t it great? In the U. S. A. in Guantanamo hundreds of people are tortured and kept in prison without any proofs. In Britain two people were shot only because of suspicion. And these countries are considered as the most democratic places in the world! Yet in Indonesia, which is an Islamic country and has just overcome tyranny, because of the absence of proofs the man was not found guilty. Now which country is more democratic?

How can you possibly relate "our Schapelle" with this guy. She was a dodgy junkie gold coast skank who had been smuggling and dealing skunk in Kuta for years. She had gone to Bali how many times in the year before she was busted? 20? 30?
She was lucky not to get death. She would have in Singapore.

The few islamist extremists that are out there in the headlines are being used in the media machine as the scapgoats. I am not islamic so this is not a biased opinion.
