I have been on prozac for 4 months now, I have extreme anxiety now when eating in resturants, I think I am going to have an allergic reaction or someting. It's uncontrolable, I have so much anxiety that I get this flushing feeling and mouth gets all tingely after I eat a little bit, very weird, I think it's do to the prozac, I don't know.

What kind of restaurants? To be honest, this sounds exactly like an allergic reaction to MSG, a food additive, to me! And that would explain why it doesn't happen at home.

It does take approximately eight weeks for any medication to take effect. This sounds as if you are experiencing side effects from the medication you have recently been put on. As soon as you see your doctor tell him so that he will be able to access the situation and possibly change the medication that you are on to another that will not cause the side effects which you are currently having.

Prozac has been associated with a number of nasty side effects- talk with the doctor that prescribed it to you and tell him you want off of it- if he refuses tell him you are quitting with or without his help, and that you do NOT want any other drug prescribed. the popularized notion that depression is a brain chemistry disorder is patent horse crap and anti depressants actually cause rather than treat brain changes. find someone who will treat your depression by helping you find the root emotional cause without toxic chemicals.

I've never heard of anxiety from prozac but you should really speak to your doctor immediately.

Does this only happen when you're in restaurants? Is it possible that you have social anxiety from eating in public? I guess that really isn't an answer, so I guess I'll say....I don't know. Yes, go see your doctor.
