Religion focuses on how we live our lives in this world. That is, it attempts to define what constitutes a "moral life", and what we must do to earn God's favor. Religion often produces rites or rituals as a means of conducting its formulaic approach to worship.
Spirituality is a focus/concern on our life outside of the physical realm. It is a recognition of our own spirit, and a desire to connect (in some manner) with God (or other entities) that reside in a realm that exists outside of time and space. Typically, it will involve a person's own emotional experience.

A whole lot of difference my dear.
Being religious. Take the Pharisees in the bible for example. They pray, they fast, they read the scripture because they have to do it. It is their duty. They do not even know that God was there with them in the form of human and called Him a blasphemer. So being religious is being dutiful, rigid to changes when God moves, having no passion as compared to being spiritual. The pharisees are religious and not spiritual. Did things for the sake of doing them.
A spiritual person connects to God. He not only know who God is, He knows God personally. (It is like: I know who the president is but I don't know him personally.) And beyond the bible knowledge and the prayers, he has a relationship and a love for God. He understands the heart of God and seeks to please Him in his daily life. A religious person will stop after he has finish reading his bible and not press in further, he has finished his duty. King David is a spiritual man who was said to be one who is after God's own heart. He, on the other hand, is not religious.

When you are a part of a religion, it tells you that things are like this. When you are spiritual, you know that all humans have spirit and no one religion is more true than another. That is all religion are true to their followers.
