Hi all. I'd like to share my story with you and get your opinion. I'm 22 and my bf's 24. We met on the internet 4 yrs ago. After chatting daily for an yr, he came to meet me in my place and stayed for two months. He wanted to stay with me but he had to go back becoz of the visa problem. After a month, he came again and stayed for 3 months. Again, he had to go back. We had great time together and we were very happy. However, this's a relationship which is really hard to keep. We always talk either on phone or online every day. There were many times that we felt desperate to be with each other. He wasn't able to come becoz of the financial problem. If we want to be together, one of us will have to give up everything and move to another country. The only way to stay in a country legally for long term is to whether find a job or have a family, i.e. marriage. He's planning to come in September and this time he will never go back again. That means we'll have to get married.

Well, can't he get a work visa and get a job? He should be able to stay then.

Are you ready for that? Love can be blinding at times and we think it is the right thing but it turns out not to be. Are there any possible signs that he may be doing it to get legal status? I am not trying to rain on your parade but you need to be very very careful. it is a commitment in many ways and you need to be sure. Use the time apart to search your soul and see if this is what you really want. think of how it will impact your future plans, think how it will change it for the better or worse. please take your time okay? Much luck and god bless you sweetheart.

If you feel like you know enough about him and don't think he's doing this just to stay in the country then go for it. If there are any doubts or if you feel you're not ready don't do it. I know you might want to be with him, but is marriage what you want?

Ok, so if he is coming to stay with you, ie marriage, where is the paradox. Do you want to get married to him?
Why cant he find a job?
