I remember when I was 11 years I had a dream about and how it was like to be dead and up to now I remember it vividly. It seemed just like an empty void, one long big dark nothing and I remember how that sensation (or lack of it) felt extremely frightening. Is this how you picture death to be? Well, if you don't believe in God and the afterlife, then I guess that's how it's going to be. What else is there? Be assured that people have died and come back and they say it's not like that at all. Even people who don't believe in God (at least before they died!)

In my opinion, maybe God will delete you later after judgement if you are deemed unworthy. What's the use of a corrupted Lvl 14 character who hasn't learned a thing? Fallen people? God has enough trouble from fallen angels! Enlightened people? God will probably revive them to bear greater powers and responsibilities than his angels! That is my worldview.

Now as to why you're afraid of the dark, you're probably afraid of the unseen things the darkness hides. Be assured that if there is anything in the darkness that you should be afraid of, you wouldn't be able to see them even if the light was on! Just pray, and beware of some of the voices in your head. Pray that you make the right decisions in life, and of those unseen things that are out there to harm you, rest easy cuz they can't kill you (you might go to heaven immediately!) They prefer you live a long and corruptible life! But that is up to you!

Pray.
My mind often turns to those types of thoughts as well, especially when I try not to think of them. If I do manage to fall asleep it can turns into a really bad life like nightmare (falling, disaster, torture or dieing).

Their are forces in our world that want you to have fear misery and death. But you can over come them, you do have the power. And they fear God.

What you do before bed can matter. I've noticed night TV often has very dark images, jarring noises, a lot of horror movie trailers come on after dark.

It's no problem if I see these during the day when I have enough time to forget the images, but at night they can really stick in my mind and even good things can morph into scary images. If I need to redirect my thoughts I turn on TV to a safe channel (one that won't shock me awake with a crappy loud infomercial) set it to turn off on it's own or listen to a book on tape that will put me to sleep.

If you can't use a TV can you use little flashlight to make you're self feel more comfortable? Or even the glow of a digital clock or stereo? A night light that is on a timer even a lamp on a timer, just long enough for you to fall asleep?

You just have to learn that death is a part of life. Chances of you dieing before you reach 90 are very slim, and by then, life expectancy will probably be up into the 100,s. When you die, YOU are no longer there, its just an empty husk. the part that makes you who you are will go somewhere else, possibly heaven.I suspect you watch far too many shows about death and murder.
As for being scared of the dark, its normal. Everybody is scared a little. I couldn't go into my basement alone after dark until i was about 40 , it scared the bejessus out of me. Just keep telling yourself that there is nothing there that wasn't there before the lights went out.

Think of death this way.

YOU DO NOT EXIST.

And right now, I know, you are like "What? Huh?"

But sit back and examine yourself for a moment...

Try this.... take your thumb and a finger and pinch a nostril. Now pinch it harder, as hard as you can.

You will notice that you can feel your thumb, each side of your nostril and your finger, each seperate and at the same time together.

Think about only one finger, then think about both, then think about the nostril, and feel the difference.

The only reason you think of yourself as your body is because we in this society are used to it. But death is not about being destroyed. It is simply what happens when each part of your body no longer can support the larger structure that you are used to calling "me".

But then what ARE you, really?

Where do you stop and the earth, wind, sky, trees, stars animals and other people begin? The answer is nowhere.

We are all part of a LARGER structure that also supports itself. And someday in the very distant future, it will die, too. But if your thumb and finger and both sides of your nostril can all feel each other, who is feeling them?

YOU! Not your body, YOU! But; where are you?

You do not exist here, noone does. You are just looking through a window, so is everyone else, the window of their temporary body.

Every molocule of matter in your body has been on earth sfor billions of years. Before that they were in stars spanning across the cosmos. You have been in cows and grass and air and water (your body is %75+ water!)
There is an atom / atoms in your body that at some point has been in every being that has ever lived on Earth!
Every 7 years every atom in your body is completely replaced. (over time)
So think about it; how COULD you be your body? 7 years ago you were here, but in a different body of molocules!

Life is truly amazing.

I GUARANTEE YOU - When you pass, what rots in the ground will be no more you than that hamburger you ate that is now being distributed around your body.

And who knows! Maybe you and I as we know ourselves to be will be alive everywhere. We are all made of stars.

hey, eventually, billions or trillions of years from now, all matter will be sucked out of existance as the universe expands into cold nothingness, tiny little waves in a cold sea of black.

But somehow I think that we will be somewhere much warmer. And with birds. Yes, yes sure...birds.
And ...clouds.....

:) :) :)

Before you go to sleep read a book that you really like...Read it till you can't keep your eyes open and then try sleeping...Completely clear your mind of all thought since that is what makes you think of death.

If that doesn't help you may need to talk to your parents about making an apointment with a doctor because there is something wrong. Not something that I would consider life threatening but mentally wrong.

I wish you the best of luck...and like I said talk to your parents if the book don't help.

I'm 26 and still afraid of the dark. I have to sleep with the hall light on. Talk to your parents or a school teacher you trust. All of the feelings are normal, your growing up, but your fear of the dark is making you think of death. Don't worry. If your parents won't let you sleep with the light on, try closing your door and using a night light, or get a clock that lights up at night. I use my lava lamp sometimes and that helps.

Your body is WHAT you are IN, not WHO you are....
it is human to fear what you do not understand yet.

God is REAL.
God IS LOVE, TRUTH, JOY, WISDOM, LOGIC, LIGHT...

God loves you, because God is all ways God and God IS Love.
Besides, God is HOW you are able to BE whatever you choose.

God is HOW free will exists.

Jesus proved that death is not an end to WHO you are...... no matter what happens to you here, you are going to be OKAY.

I was afraid of the dark for years, because I imagined that I was alone..... that God was somewhere else and I had to FIND him.
God is WITH you....... all ways. You are not required to understand because God KNOWS you already..... better than you know yourself.

Learn the Lord's Prayer.... Say it outloud before you go to sleep.
Thank God for being with you and protecting you.
(It is not something you have to ASK for, just ACKNOWLEDGE it, and there it is!)

Whenever you feel uneasy repeat the Lord's Prayer to yourself.. remind yourself that you are NOT alone, that you ARE LOVED.

When life doesn't go the way YOU plan, it is because God has better ideas for you....

Choose Love.
Ask yourself, "What would LOVE do now?" and be the best version of that you can be....

God loves you.... you are not alone..... even in the dark.

God is HOW you are able to recognize yourself in photos when you have forgotten everyone else in the photo, even though it is YOUR face you cannot see for yourself.

Blessings to you.

look, im 20 now, but when i was 14 my parents used to work until 1am on fridays and saturdays, i used to be very scared and i coulnt sleep, i also had this death images and ghost images and so in my mind but.... its ALL being the same.... IN MY MIND..... nothing has ever happened to me.

think about it, you are 14 now, and have this sense of death, like you are going to die... but you are still alive.....

try ignoring and think that God has a plan for you here and its not your time to die yet...

I'm so sorry that you go through this. It sounds like it could be a mental disorder. I'm very serious. Please don't think I'm trying to poke fun of you. My daughter has Bi-Polar and she has similar symptoms. The good news is that it is treatable. Go to a psychiatrist is my suggestion. Wouldn't it be nice to live your life free of this anxiety? I have racing thoughts when I go to sleep. I begin to worry about everything. Maybe I should take my own advice.
