fish shaped cake
gummy worms in dirt (oreo cookies crushed up)
gold fish crackers
seafood salads (tuna,crab,shrimp)
Use tackle box for small condiments and foods
float bobbers in large punch bowl with green/blue kool aid as a base
Play "go fish" card game
make mobiles with fish hooks and bobbers
gifts can be fishing related too..=)

If you are near a lake, ask to rent a small pavillion or campsite along side the lake. Have fun activities like fishing, or rent a pontoon boat and grill out on it. Have a "groom's cake" in the shape of a trout. Offer silly little foods like goldfish and foods in a picnic basket.

Fishing Nets, Poles, Bobbers, Sinkers, Fancy Lures, etc.
Beach scene - sand, driftwood, shells, boats, sails etc.
White twinkling lights.
I would go with your normal BBQ foods, hamburgs/hot dogs etc.
Finger jellos in various flavors/colors.
Look at some of his fishing magazines for ideas.
Check out local thrift shops. They might have inexpensive items for you to use.
Dollar Stores, Big Lots, Marina etc.

The decor should be.....in a nice silky shade of green/blue...maybe with some pearls....mermaid style gowns.... fish shape cookies .... or sushi (very hip!) ....put a colorful gummy fish in their drinks.....I guess there are always little cute things that can be elegant...even for fishing.

Your idea sounds like a blast. Keith and I are getting married next spring/summer at Lake Macintosh where our guest will be able to bring their own boats, use the paddle boats there, fish, enjoy catered BBQ and just have a fun day!! We're praying for a sunny day!!
