That guy that explained the roulette wheel is not right. If you flip a coin and it lands heads 14 times in a row does not make it better odds for tail on the next flip it is still going to be 50/50.
Anyway I am professional online/live poker player. Stay away from cash games online untill you get comfotable playing. SNG's are the best way to start builinding a bankroll. The best beginners book I know of is "Small Stakes Hold 'em: Winning Big With Expert Play" by David Sklansky. His idea of small stakes is probably a lot bigger than yours but the principles in there are sound.

If you follow his strategy for starting hands and position play you stand a good chance of making money.

The biggest problem for beginners and most losers is knowledge and discipline. It's difficult to keep folding junk and marginal hands but that's what is called for. Also, many hands aren't really as strong as you think they are.

After reading his book, I tuned up my game and have started winning consistently. It's not a lot of money but I have been playing with other people's money for a loooong time now.

I make a ton of cash playing hold 'em, and I think all the advice on here is bogus. If you want to be a good poker player, you must play cash games; you must read as many poker books you can get your hands on; and you must play thousands of hands before you will feel comfortable with what's going on.

There is no substitute. Poker is not an easy game. If you risk your cash with no study or preparation, you're just feeding the sharks.

no but it is possible to stand a better chance on online roulette.
Keep spinning the wheel without placing any bets until u get a run of 4 of the same colour, make sure u note all colours that come out, when uv hit 4 of the same, bet on the opposite colour, if u dont win bet double on the same colour until u win, it might take a bit of patients and a lil bit of money, but it works

If you have very good self control...use THEIR money...when that's GONE...go to your Email or something. Anyway if they "GIVE" you say $100 and you cash out at $200, they may DEDUCT the $100 thay "gave" you. Never play online with your own cash...if they want you to play and GAMBLE...USE THEIR MONEY and QUIT when that's GONE...in other words...KNOW WHEN TO QUIT AHEAD.
If ahead $100...cash out and go Email. You can get spotted ANOTHER $100 tomorrow and do the same thing with another casino...but if you LOSE...YOU'RE a LOSER!

Be very patient, don't play rags. When you get a hand play aggressively. Look for betting patterns from players. Pay attention to how each hand progresses weather you involved in it or not.
