Happiness is not an end in itself, rather it seems to me it is the result of it being satisfied with what you have. On the other hand, pleasure in our achivements, relationships and ideals seem to be on a higher level since sometimes we have to endure pain to achive them.

Well knowing God brings the inner turmoil to an end. I'm not talking about the mind, my mind will always have problems, more each day it seems. But deep down into the pit of your soul there is a calmness even through tough times ,one that I dont even understand or i cant xplane it, but it ther. See a night at the opera can make one happy if thats what they like. My moms on a cloud when shes in her garden plantin n pickin tomatoes.
Pleasure comes from many different things too ! If were chasing things to bring us happiness it will only be for a little while. specially all the things in the world, and ther r to many off those things to know whats gonna do it 4 u.

Most philosophers define happiness in varying ways. Aristole felt it was doing well and being well. John Stuart Mill define it as pleasurea and the abscene of pain. The point I am making is that happiness tends to have pleasure as a portion of in as well as other things because pleasure is just a momentary thing while happiness is pleasure and more, sustained...I would go with happiness.

pleasure and happiness goes hand-in-hand...it takes pain to deal with life period...and accept what is --IS!!!...you can have happiness and pleasure in any given moment -- and then an obstacle of life occurs....so the real important thing in life is achieving peace, tranquility and contentment.....happiness and pleasure will follow.
