Where are the best places to travel around Guangzhou in China?

I am in Guangzhou at the moment and just wanted to take day trips out of the city to show my mate around; so it must be no further than a 3 hour coach ride.

Foshan will be the best choice!~~~Foshan is a famous city also.
Foshan have 5 districts ,Chanchen District, Nanhai District,Shunde District,Sanshui District,Gaoming District.
there are many tourist attractions in Foshan,
from Guangzhou to Foshan ,no more than 1hour,(maybe to Sanshui & Gaoming takes 1.5hour, i think),
Kung Fu, Chinaware,China Roof Tile, Zhu Miao Temple,Liang Garden, Ancient Nanfeng Kiln ,Shiwan's "Gongzai" street,etc

if u are staying in the south of China thee are 2 thoughts for you. a million. Xiamen - coastal city about one hour by ability of plane from Guangzhou - reliable procuring and also the probability to bypass by ability of boat to 'see' Taiwan. 2. Hainan Island - about a similar distance Westwards. Haikou is the capital city of the island - reliable markets and seafood oh definite..... 3. make a journey to Macau (former Portugese colony - now competently restored to China) and be effective to visit distinctive the islands of Hk which includes Lantau )Mui Wo ferry from Pier 6 critical) to ascertain the nicer aspect of existence.

i worked in Guangzhou for 4 years and didn't find the place exciting because it's too commercial. there are a lot of parks tho' and i spent my weekends fishing in those parks. i can recommend Shenzen with it's wide streets, landscape and modern buildings. also try to see " window of the world", it's fantastic.
