If only guns would have been invented so long ago.... We would have had nuclear bombs much sooner. Launched ourselves into space sooner... The world would perhaps not worship anything but technology. But in essence of the question I can only say that jesus was a martyr. The system of government at the time frowned upon his views and beliefs... They shunned his hard work ethic and his honesty. Everything that was good about him was disliked by those in power. The symbolic reference that I notice... and this is just my opinion is that the cross represents two paths coming together to create strength. How unruly would we all be if there was no justice for those that we see as criminals. And are those people really criminals at all? I certainly do not adorn my body with anything accept a tattoo that I consider a personal scar. I think that every religion has a figure that was martyred for some reason or another and Jesus was the only one that gave people a feeling of need to make or have a keepsake. I think that the christian religion is a bit too commercialized. I mean they even have religious channels on the TV. I think it's absurd to hear them speak about thing they barely comprehend themselves. But when is the last time that anyone used a cross to kill someone... I know that there was probably a shooting this morning. So yes, as swords once adorned the crests of houses and as shields once pretected the soldiers, I would say that had it been a firing squad or even a single bullet, that many(christians), most of whom I am sure missed point of the story, would indeed wear a memory of the day he was killed. And maybe possibly what actually killed him.
Also he is the only character in stories that I know of, that were killed in this way.... Yes quite a few were burned at the stake and many others were crucified on a cross. But none that had followers and people that believed in what he said. Usually that kind of treatment was reserved for thieves and murderers. The people knew he was innocent but most just longed for the sight of blood and torture. Hope this helps to shed some light on the question but it really makes me think. Thanks for listening.

And do you think this is Funny ... making fun of Jesus !!! First Jesus was not crucified, but God raised him to the skies, and will be back at the end of time.
So the nailed man was a different guy who looked like jesus. And if you insist that he was nailed on the cross ... give me your proof.
[4.154] And We lifted the mountain (Sainai) over them at (the li
taking of the covenant) and We said to them: Enter the door making obeisance; and We said to them: Do not exceed the limits of the Sabbath, and We made with them a firm covenant.
[4.155 ] Therefore, for their breaking their covenant and their disbelief in the communications of Allah and their killing the prophets wrongfully and their saying: Our hearts are covered; nay! Allah set a seal upon them owing to their unbelief, so they shall not believe except a few.
[4.156] And for their unbelief and for their having uttered against
Marium a grievous calumny.
[4.157 ] And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa
son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor
did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.
[4.158] Nay! Allah took him up to Himself; and Allah is Mighty,
Wise

Precisely! And can you imagine if the capital punishment of Rome at the time was either the electric chair or the lethal injection???
You'd see little metallic chairs with a gruesome figure sitting on it or gold-emblazoned syringes hanging around necks today!!
LOL.

i like this question, really nice. i always found it weird that they worshiped the symbol that killed their saveure. personally if i was killed on a cross and people had little trinkets with me on that cross I'd be extremely pissed.

man, I feel sorry about you.
That happened because it was suppose to happened like that, and there is nothing you can do about it.
Guns or Crosses, I don't really care.
You should do the same.
