We were taught evolution at school. That is like teaching Islam in a Catholic school, right? I am with you....and God.

Einstein was an atheist, as evidence by his own book, "The Human Side." Here is a quote from the book:
"It was, or course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."
Steven Hawking is also an atheist, and in his book "A Brief History of Time," he concludes through scientific evidence that a god of any kind was completely unnecessary to the creation and establishment of natural laws of the universe.

Einstein was an atheist. He never asserted the universe was created, nor did he believe in God.
Why do you feel the need to be dishonest when you make excuses for believing in the equivalent to the Easter Bunny?
Who created your creator?
Creationism is not a theory, it is irrational in that creationists assert complexity is proof the universe was created while at the same time claiming the creator was not created.
Even if evolution was completely wrong, creationism would still be irrational.

We just had this discussion and given the fact I've read his autobiography, I know for a fact he was an atheist, or so he claimed.
When can we expect your announcement that you have become an atheist, given the assertion you are going to "stick with Einsten?"

“If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.”
"Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: it transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural & spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity"
"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hopes of reward after death."
These are quotes by Albert Einstein. He wasn't referring to your christian god. How do people believe in evolution? What I'm wondering is how do they not believe in evolution? Is their fear of death what's attaching them to religion? Do they somehow fancy themselves, as humans, better than anything else on this planet, despite the fact that all matter is made up of the same three particles? Really, the proof is everywhere. And everyone knows it at this point. We've come a long way in a few thousand years. Open a book that's not your bible and read.

Even when it was a headache during high school, and the only word "science" makes me nervous, I see it like the way to explain how wonderful is God's creation, and I do believe in evolution...
See... Genesis says the world was created in seven days, water, the light, the skies, plants, then animals and the man was the last (forgot one of the days... kinda sleepy right now hehe). The point is that science proved that, well.. they weren't seven days exactly, but the order was perfectly right...
Even the Pope Jean Paul II accepted it, and said that science and religion have no reason to be confronted (spelling). So, why don't you accept the evolution theory? there you have the skulls, the tools that were made by the ancient humans, you've seen how our hands transformed the shape accordingly to how we used them (how the thumbs were more and more separated), do you need two skulls with some t-shirts that say "Adam" and/or "Eve"? Please, the Genesis is written in symbols, that's how Jesus tought us His lessons, with symbols!!
Don't be so narrow-minded, that keeps this world from progress.

Is this the same Einstein who said
"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." From a letter Einstein wrote in English, dated 24 March 1954"
Why do the theists twist facts or even lie to back up points ?

Have you ever read Ayn Rand?
You need to learn how to think for yourself. Just because someone that you consider a great person with great intelligence believes something doesn't mean you have to. The more you mindlessly believe everything you read (this includes your Bible) or hear, the more you put yourself below Einstein's level.
Are you God? How do you know that what you read out of some book is completely true? How do you know that God doesn't think creationism is bull and just uses it to test our fate in God? If you're not God, then I wouldn't bash on both sides. Remember, both creationism and Darwinism are just theories, so there's not enough evidence to say that one is COMPLETELY true.

what you failed to mention is that neither one denounced EVOLUTION
BECAUSE EVOLUTION IS A FACT!
you can believe in evolution and god
the Vatican's chief astronomer, Fr. George Coyne, issued a statement on 18 November 2005 saying that
"Intelligent design isn't science even though it pretends to be. If you want to teach it in schools, intelligent design should be taught when religion or cultural history is taught, not science."
Cardinal Paul Poupard added that
"the faithful have the obligation to listen to that which secular modern science has to offer, just as we ask that knowledge of the faith be taken in consideration as an expert voice in humanity."
He also warned of the permanent lesson we have learned from the Galileo case, and that
"we also know the dangers of a religion that severs its links with reason and becomes prey to fundamentalism."

They don't "believe" in evolution; they just recognize the validity of evolution just as they recognize the validity of heliocentrism (the theory that the sun lies at the center of the solar system).
There's no reason why you cannot retain your faith and still face the facts. Even creationists these days are beginning to admit that evolution is backed by tons of undeniable scientific evidence, or at least the ones who try to incorporate science into their act do. How can you be so certain that evolution is not God's method of helping his creatures adjust to their environment?
Incidentally, earlier this week Steven Hawking stated that we are getting close to discovering the mechanism of the origin of the universe, and he wasn't talking about the Bible when he said it. He was talking about science. As he wrote in "Black Holes and Baby Universes": "One does not have to appeal to God to set the initial conditions for the creation of the universe, but if one does He would have to act through the laws of physics."

Evolution is FACT!!!!!! God is an imaginary being.....think in terms of santy claus!!!! Now on that same note before you disregard me I have to say that God DOES EXIST. But you know what??? There is just one little problem with that statement. God appears to each person in MAN"S own image. Einstien simply stated that HIS faith was reaffirmed.... that is because he realized the magnitude of the body, the self, and the spirit.... Manifestations create both believers and true non-believers.... And the only thing that seperates religion from science is science is based on facts that you can see but not understand....
Religion is based on things understood but not seen. To put it another way.... we are all seeking answers but most of us don't know what question goes with what answer.... All the answers have been discovered.... all the questions have been asked.... It's more in terms of wiring the two together without short circuiting the entire network..... Can it be done??.... probably not... Will it be done???.....takes alot of faith to believe in yourself but alot less to believe in something tangible

how do people not?
when you say this you obviously don't know Einstein "I will stick with the two smartest minds in science. Einstein and Steven Hawkings" one of his most famous quotes implies that hes not "smart" he is gust open minded, and if you want to "stick with them" you should be more open minded.
there's no proof that god exists, in fact there's more proof that evolution exists than your great doG, i call him doG
another example to why evolution exists, or how could we breed dogs... doG didn't create little yappie type dogs did he... no we did...
