Why don't you purchase a cheap copy off of eBay?
Microsoft has made some steps against distributing 98, so it may no longer be legal to even buy it. But to directly answer your question, no it's not acceptable to just "share" it, LOL.....

If in india, i can lend u my copy of win 98
but y don't u try win xp?
it's damn cool,more optimised for laptops and many more features.i think u r asking for win 98 coz u must b needing ie5 that is not affected by viruses!
if i am right,then y don't u install xop and install mozilla firefox as ur internet browser?
It supports tabbed browsing, and also very gud and not much errors!
