It is good that you are an agnostic, you ask questions, you want some answers! At least you are not one of those people who are told something, and totally believes it and never questions it! That shows me you are an intelligent being and doesn't buy into something without first asking questions! Here is a word of advice for the future: When you mention you might be an agnostic, people are kind and will understand. But if you say that you are an atheist, people will immediately hate you and will turn away from you from then on! If someday you find you are an atheist instead of an agnostic, always say, (agnostic), just to avoid conflict, looks of pity and hatred!

Agnostic usually refers to those who don't know whether there is a god or not that there is a god or gods, those who do not believe in gods, are athiests. If you profess belief in a given religion you are not agnostic, if you can't decide you are waffleing, if you believe in something but you don't like any of the current choices you are agnostic.Me I'm Luciferian. My known definition of agnostic is whether you believe in any religion or not. If you don't believe in any kind of religion but know there is some higher power (not necessarily God, or other religions' gods), then I believe you are agnostic. I could be wrong though.

Agnostic means not commiting to the claim that there is or is not a supreme being (or beings). Frankly, if you're not sure then you probably are.

Ask yourself "Is there a god?" If you don't know then you are Agnostic.

you would need to give more info for me to help you decide this. Those who are agnostic generally believe that it is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God scientifically. That doesn't mean you can't believe in a God or disbelieve in a God, it just means you acknowledge the fact that science cannot prove it either way.

Do you believe a Supreme Being exists?

Yes = theist

No = atheist.

(please note "Maybe" is not an option)

There is no such thing as an "agnostic." Agnostic is a word invented by an atheist who was afraid to admit being an atheist. "Deist" is likewise a word invented by atheists to conceal their atheism.

Hope that clears it up for you.

If you are agnostic there is nothing to be ashamed of, it is perfectly rational.
Agnostic simply means you don't know if God exists or not.
Who really does?
You don't need to be confused you are on a path of honesty that might lead to a deeper understanding ... one way or another.

Agnostic means:

1) a. One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
b. One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.

2) One who is doubtful or noncommittal about something.

If any of these apply to you, then your agnostic.

Agnostic means believing in some sort of supreme being, or god, but not practicing a religion or going to a church. Athiest means not believing in any sort of supreme being what-so-ever.

Do you believe there is no God (or other supreme being--whatever floats your boat)? Then you're an atheist.

Do you believe that it's impossible to determine whether or not God exists? Or are you generally not sure about the existence of God? Then you're probably an agnostic.

Do you identify with neither of these paragraphs? Then you're probably neither.
