Hello fearlessweirdo..:)
I used to be an Atheist..so I can answer your question..
We are a humble people, putting others needs before that of our own..We are gracious, Loving, caring, kind and gentle..
A true believer in Christ..thinks not of what is best for them..but what is best for others..
The reality is, that Jesus lived a sinnless life, He died for our sins, and that He rose again..and sits at the right hand of God our Father.. :)
So now my answer to you is..how can an Atheist find Jesus.. :)
For He is the way the truth and the Life.. :)
For whom the Son hath set Free is Free Indeed..Glory..Alleluia
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

You sound angry. Why do Christians make you so upset? With your mind so certain of the truth of evolution, how come you are not more at peace with yourself? Is it because everyone doesn't believe the same thing you do? If we Christians are so weak-minded and easily deceived, why do we threaten or even annoy you? To you, we use religion and God as a crutch and are living in a dream world. So what do you care? Or have you come to the realization that it indeed takes a strong mind to believe in something that is unseen. (We call this, faith.) Is love or friendship then false? Because these things can't be seen but millions of people everywhere believe in them. You might be surprised to learn that many Christians are actually intelligent and lead very emotionally and mentally healthy lives. We can read and use computers, and most of us are very successful in our careers. Make no mistake, we definitely don't have our heads stuck in the sand or live in "la-la land." We see how bad the world has shaped up to be. Are you aware that in our world today, thousands of people die every year because they are Christians? I don't think they thought they were living safe lives. They were however willing to die for their beliefs. How many atheists have been persecuted to death this year?
So since you know so much about evolution, why don't you learn all you can about Christianity? It's easy to criticize something when you know little or nothing about it. Or do you get your information from the newspapers or worse, around the water cooler at work? What can it hurt to become better informed about the "enemy," or are you afraid you might change sides?
Lastly, about your comment about tricking ourselves so we will feel good and safe about life, you have it wrong. We feel so good about life because we believe in life after death and are confident in where we will be spending that life. Can you say you feel as good about where you think you will be going after you die????

Oh, but they do! Don't think that the loud mouth, intolerant, thumpers is all there is to Christianity. There are lots of Christians who look for the logical explanation of bible stories or view them as fables or examples rather than word for word fact. There are plenty of Christians who are aware of the varying text and the major points in history that changed the bible and the political struggles and reasons for doing so.
Don't be fooled into thinking it is a religion of broken recordings and drones - it is not. There are a lot of wonderful people of christian faith and they have a lovely religion. I was never so moved and uplifted at a funeral as i was at a catholic funeral - to be moved to tears by such words of hope, it's a lovely religion, but it's not for everyone.
Having said that, I think we all believe in that which makes us feel better - don't you? I mean, isn't that the whole point of philosophy and religion - to give us a precident, a validation for feeling as we do? No one is tricked into their beliefs. I mean there are the sheeple as a famous man has called them, that just do what's always been done maybe, but even they are not tricked - more likely they are happy to not have to think about it. Religion, handled - but a check in the box and move on.
Athiests are comfortable knowing the truth as far as they can see it - no one knows the Unknowable. Evolution is a great theory and it accounts for everything except how did the big bang happen? There is no way to know how the explosion happened - what put those original materials there. Athiests often want to act as if their religion has been verified, but it hasn't been any more than any of ours are.

this doesn't seem much like a question. this sounds like a rant. did you know some Christians believe in evolution?
did you know Judaism, Islam, and many other world religions also do not condone evolution?
or have you not had the time to step out of your little box of ideas fed to you through public schools and colleges?
many Christians will argue that the bible has had more evidence and contributed more to science than evolution has.. (aka- the world being round, the world suspended n space, blood keeping us alive, Isaac newton and gravity...) as well as archaeological finds.
evolution is still just a theory. it hasn't been proven. where as those who profess faith in something had a real experience with it, and were not just told "you come from monkeys." and believed it.
just chill out, man. think before you rant.

I am not a christian...but evolution is just a theory and a lousy one at that. There is absolutely no evidence evolution occurred. The reason ppl belief in evolution is because they reject all other beliefs so its not only christians that is "blind" but you too. You dont have to be a atheists and believe in evolution. go research more and find out for yourself that evolution is not reality its a alternate reality.

I read a children's story about why bears have short tails to my daughter. It was about a rabbit who had stolen some fish from a fisherman. A bear saw the rabbit and wanted to know where he'd gotten all the fish because he was a hungry bear. The rabbit, not wanting to tell the bear that he'd stolen the fish, told the bear to go to the river, cut a hole in the ice and stick his tail in the water and the fish would latch onto it. Well, the long-tailed bear did as the rabbit said. He wanted to catch a lot of fish, so he sat for a long time with his tail sticking through the hole in the ice and into the water. He sat for so long that the hole in the ice refroze and his tail was stuck. The bear pulled so hard to get his tail out that he pulled part of his tail off. That is why bears have short tails.
I hope my daughter doesn't grow up actually believing that.

Quick answer - did you ever think that maybe they are both right? Science has been proving the Bible for years! I believe the Bible because its the truth. Science changes as they discover new things - and thats cool - but the Bible doesn't change. And it doesn't need to. As technology improves, scientists are getting closer and closer to proving what the Bible already says! So thats the BEST place I can see to put my faith!

You make a very good point. The reality of the matter, though, is that neither Christians nor atheists can know for sure if what they believe is real.

I don't believe you are suppose to question any of it. I know somewhere in the bible it says something like have the faith of a child. When you were a child you listened a believed all your parents had to say. He is saying you need to have faith, although hard to grasp sometimes, you just need to believe. That is where faith comes from.
