Why?
They are both at the ages where their form will change dramatically
they are both growing, and the taller the child will be the leaner they will tend to be.
One of my sons was always quite thin (not thin as in "too" thin, but *lean*) but has now filled out to be 6' 2. Another of my sons is growing with the identical pattern and these can tend to have more growing pains too.
As long as your child eats regularly and a good balanced diet then don't worry. Don't go shoving junk food down them. How we eat as children comes back and either cares for us as adults or dogs us as in illness etc...A childs diet is essential to be balanced now, for a healthy body when older.

They may have an allergy to wheat gluten. This can cause the body to have malabsorption of vitamins and nurtrients. What a wheat allergy does is strip the lining of the small intestine, causing a auto-immune response to attack the offending wheat particles. This is what causes malabsorption. You can have tests done of the small intestine, or take them off all wheat products and see if they start to do better. The disease is called Celiac disease and is treatable by avoiding the offending foods. This can be a daunting task as gluten as used as a preservative in 99.9 % of all foods found in a regular supermarket.

Check with a good gastrointerologist to see if your kids fit the bill. There are many more symptoms and strategies than I can write here.

I would implement more protein into the children's daily diets. Also, if you are watching the calories they take in, trying bumping them up just a little. While they are still young and growing, they need to be fully nourished. Vitamins are a good thing to give them if they aren't already on any. A childrens vitamin would work just great. Spread the meals out and snacks accordingly and your children could possibly maintain or add a few pounds to their already weight. :) Good luck!

Give them worm tablets every 3-6 months. Let them eat normally, excercise normally. Give them simple, nutritious unprocessed food with plenty of protein, carbohydrates and different colored vegetables. Please don't put them on diets or supplements.
