She will find a secluded area to have her babies. Remember don't touch the kittens!! She will kill them if you do. Why? Not sure but my vet told me not to touch the kittens until they were older. So when your cat isn't in site shes probably having the babies.

omg why would you think that the mother would kill the kittens from human contact lol.
It does sound as tho she is starting to be in labor. They normally find the craziest what the hell were u thinking place to have them and they will be adiment that this is where they want to have them. Ive even woken up with my feet soaking wet and a cat giving birth under the covers by my feet. Apparently my feet did not touch them cause she didn't kill them hahahaha.
If you have ever seen a woman go into labor it is alot alike u will be able to feel her stomach contract and there will be breaking of the water all over the place.
And this could all go on for several more hours, as long as she is not straining or acting as tho she is in horrible constent pain then you will have to patiently wait it out.
Good luck, let us know how it goes and how many.

The signs of labor is just what you described. She may cry alittle,Licking her bottom, wondering around (like she is lost)She is looking for a safe and quiet place. When her labor pains is getting closer ,she may cry out very loud and walk in circles(Fast motion) that's when she ready to go to her bed. Make sure she has a bed in a place that is quiet not alot of traffic, take her to the bed a couple of times. My cat wanted me with her when she had hers, and I rub her belly during contractions keeping her calm and talking to her, and helped cleaned the kittens after they were born, and NO I really don't think if you touch the kittens she will kill them,If she trust's you.You wont have any problems in handling the kittens right after they are born. The more human contact the better, Good Luck
