Waste money on material goods they don't need while people in the world starve to death and then turn around and bash gays as sinners. They're both sins under god's rule but I don't understand how you can point the finger and ignore your own sin. Someone help me out here?

are you a Christian?
we don't all bash gays, we just want them to realize they are sinning.
We Christians all sin daily, but we are aware and repent. (the real ones do at least.)
Remember the thing about the splinter in one man's eye while a log is in your own?
we are all hypocrites to an extent.
You included, and myself as well.

First of all there is nothing wrong with material goods God just wants us to put them in there proper place. Second it is not our fault that the world has starving people, yes we are supposed to help but we are not expected to give all of our money to these other people, what would be the point in that then they would have all the money then we wouldn't have any.Besides we Americans do help alot of people around the world we are the most giving people on the planet.
And finally you cannot equate homosexuality to not giving alms, the Bible tells us that homosexuality is an abomination (a extra bad sin) in fact the Bible calls it the abomination that causes desolation. That means it is the sin that will lay waist to our society.

You refer to christians as "they " so I'll assume that you are not one. If I'm wrong I apologize. First, the problem with your question is that it not an honest one. You don't know how much money we send to charities or how much is wasted. Then your tone seems to infere that only christians are guilty of indulgences. Am I reading this wrong? I don't see where you confess that ordering pizza/chinese/whatever the other night was sinful on your part. I'm not convinced that you really care about the starving people. Have you ever bother to look at who most of the relief agencies are? Who started them? Ever wonder why its called the red CROSS instead of the red pyramid/circle/square? I'm not saying that we don't need to do more, but lets be honest at least. My selfishness is due to me and my weakness. Without Christ it would be worse. If you want to take an honest look at the situation consider how things would be without charities that were started by christians such as the red cross, goodwill, salvation army and most of the hospitals in this country and many universities as well.
As far as bashing homosexuals- All people should be treated with a basic degree of respect. However there is nothing wrong with calling their behavior a sin. The bible is clear on this. We are not to judge any person to be unworthing of hearing the gospel or unworthy to be saved by Christ. However we are commanded to make judgements on what is right and wrong."the spiritual man makes judgements on all things"

i'll help you out. your compleatly right, but you are also compleatly wrong. it is not just christians, it is the entire human race! the way our society has grown and changed and how we have grown as a civilization world-wide. you have to realize that the human species is constantly changing, (ideas, beliefs, etc) and when you see that you realize that our behavior now is deeply related to our past beliefs.
back then when religion was starting and growing, things that were accepted were different from things we accept today. back then there was a strong social class, (reguardless of what certain religions may think) and some people were considered better than other people, gays were sinners because they were different from society. just like lepers were banished because people thought "god" was punnishing them. now in the present day we have a little more general view of certain topics. "it is better to provide for yourself and show others what they are doing wrong", is the most common view today. and here in america it is much easier to forget about what other peope are going through because we think, "life is great here in america, why wouldnt it be ok every where else", and that alows us to focus on the little things we see wrong in our own little part of the world, rather than important issues like world hunger and wide-spread disease.

We all have inner conflict & struggles that we don't readily admit to. As far as the gay bashing goes...right now in America, with the Gay agenda pushing for legalization of gay marriage; it is in the news regularly, so that happens to be "the" issue dealt with the most...for now. Give it some time & it will change. But, you are right in that there is a lot of judgement & condemnation flying around right now.
Remember, though...Christians are not perfect. They are on the road to redemption as much as the next person. They are not posting questions against gays so much as the gays are posting comments provoking the Christians to share their personal beliefs.
I am not Christian, but I used to be. I have been DEEPLY burned by the Christian church. While I turned my back on the church, I remained loyal to G-d. Now I practice Judaism. And, as much as I love G-d & study Scripture, I, too, have many issues I face.
I hope this answers your question.

ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.Unfortunately most Americans are materialistic and judge their worth or success by how many material possessions they acquire. Not all those who profess to be Christians are.You can judge a tree by it's fruits. My husband was fussing today about something he fixed for his special diet and we were watching t.v. and saw a flash of the suffering in Sudan and dafar and I felt so guilty with my empty plate in hand and I scolded him for not counting his blessings

Because Americans can do that if they want to. Just as the Japanese have a right to be racist, just as the people of Amsterdam have a right to smoke funny cigarettes, just as...

You get my point. They can do it so they will. And it's not just American Christians, it's Christians everywhere that are sinning. Nobody's perfect.

Yep, I agree. I asked a question before:

Why are those who claim to be the most religious often the most judgmental and critical?
I've found this to be very true. I don't understand how someone can claim to be Christian can damn and condemn others as though they are better. God says to love others as yourself. It's not our place as mere mortals to judge our neighbors.

I think this is somewhat similar to what you're saying. Check out the answers I got, though. I understand what you're saying, and I completely agree.

If they did then the rapes wouldnt be happenig..........so please stop judgeing people because the church and everything about christians and christinity is also so full of it.................Life is life and people will always make choices which they think is best or as its brained onto then from a churchs points of views.............

The Bible does warn against people who judge others several times. Wait, lemme get my bible.

I don't trust the American lifestyle. I live (or try) to live how Jesus wants me to. Often, Christians forget they gotta keep trying.

A lot of people call themselves Christians but don't have the faith. Don't assume Christians are like them. Read about who we're trying to be like: Jesus.
