He sounds needy and insecure if he's declaring his feelings for you before he really even knows you . Red flag! Red flag!

The answer is a straight NO!!! Do not trust or believe him whatsoever. As you said, you just met him. There is no way within that short period of time he has known you. I'm a man myself, aged 231/2 and I know that's the truth. You are a girl/lady. Girls or generally females have what is called 'ear-problem'. Not that their ears are mal-functional, but what it means is that for a man to win over a woman, all he has to use is words. Men on the other hand have an 'eye problem'. A woman can win over a man by just showing her body. Men go by what they see. Women go by what they hear. That's why women cannot lust. Only men can lust. Women are were created being vulnerable to a man's words. The like being appreciated and told nice things about them, how beautiful they are and so on. They have no choice but to believe and hold onto what a man tells them. It's not their fault, it's just the way they were created. The problem is, men know this and they take advantage of this to win over women, not to love them, but to have sex with them, and that will be the end of that story. Please don't believe him. If a man truly loves you, there are some things he'll tell you in the first few days of meeting, and one of them IS NOT how beautiful your body is and so on. Any man who does this has other intentions.
REMEMBER, FLATTERIES ARE LIES!!!

See there can not be a straight yes or no for your question. Every individual is tuned for reacting differently in the similar situation. A lady would definitely appreciate flattering and compliments from her boy friend and other friends whom she places trust upon. But the same lady may feel offended in case it is a stranger who is trying to harass her.
In any case, in my opinion, you need to take an informed decision by using your brain to trust someone for flattery and compliments. Nevertheless, keep in mind, that everybody likes flattery not only from opposite sex but also from others as it satisfies our inborn ego. So keep enjoying that, as long as you like it.

I go with Troy on this one. It is better for himto be flattering and complimentary. I myself do this to my girlfriend, and you can say what ever you want, but I only do it because I am truthful. In my culture, it is being disrepectful to females if we do not compliment them every time we see them.
