Hmm, perhaps the Hasselblad H2D (22 megapixels). Yes, it's medium format, but it's also SLR.
If your budget is $30,000 Hasselblad has a new model just for you: the 39 megapixel H2D-39.
Or if you want something that looks like a regular SLR, the top of the line Canon 1DSMk2 costs just $7000 (16.7 megapixels).

$25K gives you a LOT of room to play!! Hassleblad has a "medium format" digital cam for about $14,000 that does excellent work, but you can get almost the same quality with the Canon Mark II for about $8,500. Nikon also has a new digital SLR out, but I've not been overly impressed with the Nikons ever since Mitsubishi bought them out. If you have a pre-existing SLR sytem I would suggest purchasing a digital SLR in the same family so you have lens compatibility. If you have $25K to blow and do not have a pre-existing system, I say buy the Canon, the 70-200 IS 2.0 lens, the 500mm lens, and the 28-105 for general purpose shooting. Your lenses are really going to matter just as much (if not more) than the actual camera!

My first instinct is to recommend the Hassleblad H2 but when you add the cost of the lenses $25,000 will not get you too many choices.
You have $25,000 for a system or just the body? Probably the system. If you were looking for body only then I would go with a Large format camera and the BetterLight camera back.
For a system, Your best bet is the Canon 1D series, pick one for the type of shooting are going to do. Different models are for different types of shooting, Sports or general/studio work. Pick the "IS L" lenses for hand held or mono pod work and any of the other "L" lenses for studio work. The "L" series of lenses from Canon are Professional quality (& Price). You should be able to get 4-5 of the L lenses plus the camera body for under $25,000 with a few buck left for the camera bag and 3 580EX flashes.

Kodak, hands down!
The EasyShare 740 is just plain awesome...it's smaller than the Canon Rebel...less complicated as well.
Of course, a camera's nothing without a power source...the link below leads to a EasyShare bundle of camera and printer dock

I think Hubble telescope will be on ebay for less than $25,000 in the next couple of years, maybe you should wait?
That would be some SERIOUS Digi Cam power!!!

for 25000 id get a really nice medium format with a nice digi back, like a hasselblad 503 or a mamiya rz67, or just get a 1d mark 2 or 1ds mark 2 with some nice lenses

I would go with Nikon D2Xs for dynamic shoots, Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II for studio work.
