Just turn your statement the other way around. You put your faith and trust in politicians, economists, scientists, media, etc and it is they who despite promising so much deliver very little. They promise to eradicate world povert, hunger, disease etc, however, all of these are on the increase. Now, I would say it is your misplaced faith in these people which is the cause of your misery rather than God. God says if you stop hankering after material/worldly goods & goals then you will become happier. Nowhere is this more evident then in the global survey of happiness carried out a couple of years ago and they found that the people in the poorest countries were more satisfied and happy then those in the developed countries - why is this - because they have more faith in God.
As regards karma, everyone knows the law of relativity and karma is the same, what goes around must come around sooner or later - this is God's justice. Karma is not just some media catchphrases revolving around disabled people being punished for their past sins - it is about everyday people who choose to put their faith in material things/people and the results are global misery.
Nobody here can prove to you that God exists, you just have to be a little intelligent and observe for the signs given in the scriptures. Everything happening around you will give it's own sign if you try to read and understand the scriptures.
As regards dying - what do you know about people who have died - do you know that their souls move on to inhabit other bodies? There are several documented cases of possible proofs of reincarnation - the government and media just choose not to publicise these widely for fear that people will turn to God. It is the politicians and scientists who want you to be their slaves - God doesn't even ask for anything from you except to try and live a wholesome life.
Just taste and see for yourself.
Good luck.

You speak of wealth.........wealth comes with its own set of problems. Being wealthy does not automatically mean being happy!
We suffer because WE choose to do so; God/s just put the final stamp of approval on our contract; we are here to learn hard and tough life lessons. While having our choice to incarnate anywhere within the known universe, and many universes outside of it, we have come here. The earth is known as 'the insane asylum" of this universe. Those who choose to incarnate here do so because it is here, in this hell, that we can learn our soul lessons the fastest, quickest way.
I don't think that God favors only a few; we are so often luckier than we even realize. It is not until we are faced with a child dying of cancer, a couple losing a much-wanted child, a person starving to death, the brilliant mind going to fog because of Alzheimers, the 25 year old who is bedridden due to MS, and other things like these, that we begin to realize that our lives are much more graced than we can comprehend.
If you have a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, and are able to work, these are some things to be thankful for. If you have at least one person that loves you, there is another thing. That your mind is clear enough to entertain such questions, and your hands steady enough to type that question out, are more things.
There is much more to our "lives" than the short, agonizing time that we spend here. But without suffering, without pain, without trial, we do not grow, or learn. Think about it like this: Which time did you learn more; when things were going good, or when you were going through a bit of a trial? I, myself would not want to have a life free of any hardship; because then I wouldn't know how to take care of myself or anyone else.
Spending your life being angry at God does you no good; it wastes your time and energy. Good energy that you could be putting toward bettering your life, or the lives of others.
If you walk around expecting the worst of everyone and everything, you will usually get it. If you allow yourself even brief moments of hope, and positivity, I think you will see a change in your life.
These are just my opinions; others will have either agreeing or conflicting ones. I do hope you read what I have said carefullly, and start putting positivity to practice in your everyday life.
Blessings of the God and Goddess are about you; you just need to let the blessings in.

Funny as this may sound, we as eternal spiritual beings choose to live the life we live before we even enter the physical plain. We do this for many reasons, but the most important is experience. It's like reading a book about fixing a car, but until you physically fix a car, you have no idea what it's really like. Fixing the "car" may take many trial and error's to finally get the result you want. Life in so many ways is like this.
The wealthy with their easy lives have chosen that for themselves also. Be proud that your down here trying your best. The world is confusing and frustrating, but by asking for a little help from the other side, it can be a little easier.
Why does it feel like there is not God? For starters, religion has taught us that God is a jealous, petty God that plays favorites. This is not so. God (male AND female) exemplify perfect love. But in basking in this perfect love on the other side, it takes longer to experience things first hand. Thus, we come to experience life first hand and learn, life is hard.
If your not ready for this concept, that's okay. But maybe if you volunteered for things that impact people less fortunate than yourself, it may help you to realize that by helping other people, you help yourself. Love yourself, and you love God. Because God is inside all of us. Some just choose to ignore the divine spark.

First - poeple developed conciousness, this scared the crap out of them. They developed notions of divine beings to explian what they couldn't and give them comfort that they would be ok in life and in the afterlife.
Second - religion became an excellencent tool for controling the masses, hence the chian of being - God then King then regular man -
Third - since the age of science and access of greater numbers to education the belief in religion has dwindled - naturally.
Fourth - some people for the first two reasons still endevour to hold onto religion, it's also great for justifing the otherwise unjustifiable - Goerge Bush is a greater believer in this.
I think that about explains it essentially.
We, us humans, have shown greater agency then any percieved God, if we don't like poverty and injustices WE can change it.

well, well and more well, lets say you are in a hole, and a truck is heading your way and you're a person who loves to be alive.. now - who will you pray to ? As far as i know, from the start of mankind, most humans has worshiped something.... we need to pray to something .. we call them god or gods. that said. Usually when you worship material things and don't have some... we feel like hell. lets say you have them...does it give you the power...does it makes you feel Godly ... are you in control over the weak ?? can this be what some think God is for. well, well and more well. If so ...then we may already be hell.

At church on Sunday the topic was Trinity, our God, 3 in 1, is too great, powerful, loving, to adequately describe in human terms. We KNOW that Jesus lived (there is concrete historical evidence) and is present today in the form of the Holy Spirit, the comforter, whose presence fills us with love, peace and joy whenever we move our minds and hearts towards GOD. Those of us who have felt the presence of God have no doubts at all. Have a quiet time and discover for yourself the power of God's love!

Someone ask me once. What if you die and find out there is no God and you've lived all these years without partying, doing all the things you used to love and thought was fun. You gave it all up for nothing. I said well: I happened to believe there is a God and what are you going to do when you die after doing all the things I used to do and find out all along he did exist.

As far as I know, people can believe whatever they choose. The only reason you don't believe in God is because tyou have never seen Him. Devil worshipers believe in satan--but have they ever seen him? Money is man made and has nothing to do with God. What you should start thinking about is what if the Bible is all true and you have to stand judgement---what will you say to our Creator, Lord and Heavenly Father? Oppps. sorry God, my bad.
