Without reading them here, I know some of the pat Christian answers (god doesn't give diseases, sin causes it, man causes it, etc.). While god may nor may not cause disease (after all, no one can know the true nature of god..god might be sadistic..look at that bible full of vengeance, jealousy, wrath -- qualities all attributed to god..and a good portion of the time god does nothing to help the children (they get sicker, suffer more, and die or, even worse, they live for many years in that condition). Hence, god is either all powerful and not all loving or all loving and not all powerful or neither or does cause the suffering (and if the latter is true he is a monster of a god).

As far as prayer, we have all seen the recent studies published in the prominent newspapers that indicate that prayer can actually be harmful. I, for one, do not think that god answers prayers. And every time I hear someone say, "I will pray for you," my first response is to cringe and then I tell to please don't do that. Pray? Neigh, I'd rather light a wish candle or rub a magic lantern or talk to my dog (at least he listens sometimes).

It is complicated & I know many of you might curse me but...

God did not bring us to life just to have fun, life is a test. but it comes in many different ways some come as diseases, some come in berayal, poverty, even wealth is a test.

God tests your faith, patience, strength.

And for sure something good will come out of this test.

"In my religion we were told a story, where Moses followed a man:
there were parents who were very religious & kind, God gave them a child, then the man with Prophet Moses killed that child. Prophet Moses got very angry and he told the man why did you do this. you killed an inocent child who did nothing. The man-who was learned form God- told him that these parents were so good and that child was going to be a bad son for them when he grow up. That's why I did it." this story is too long and contains other things but there is no time or space to tell it.

And we were tought also that God never gives a test to someone that beyond his strength, for God created us and knew the strength of each & everyone of us.

As for answering the prayers:

God for sure answers all of our prayers, i.e.: sometimes, he answers the prayers directly and do what you really wanted, then the test came just becauseGod loves to here your voice praying to him.

OR God could just postpone this prayer and save it, so in Judgement day he asks you: did not you pray for....., and you say: yes, God I did, so God tells you today we reward you for your patience. and you will be answered with far more increadible things than you can imagine.

OR God never answers the prayer because as we say sometimes: "Becareful of what you wish, it may come true." may the thing that you want so much, is the very thing that will cause harm, or you will regret wishing for it. believe me God know it all.

Test is a very complicated process. You will never Get it No matter how you tried.

Even athiests will never be able to explain it.

Sorry for such long answer.

God does not give children deadly dieases. There are many challenges in life. He does answer all prayers, just maybe not the way you want them to be answered. Otherwise, we would have 300 million powerball winners twice a week. Well.....you get my point.

Please don't be so quick to judge the Creator. There couldn't be a greater mistake than to endow Him with human attributes. To take for granted that He has thought and decision making like that of man is far from His plan for us.
If man routinely ignores the plight of little children across the globe, how can we lay blame elsewhere? Man has the ability to address the disease pandemics. Yet, he routinely turns his attention to war and resource mongering.
The way I know that he answers my prayers is because there isn't anything in the way of expectation that I pray for. When prayer is considered, a specific request shouldn't be the basis for your prayer. A prayer of blessing should suffice.
The Creator's blessing may appear in many guises and is above question and suspicion. When we question his plan is when we falter in faith. I hope and pray that we all do more each day to find and believe in our faith without reproach.

No God does not....

Did God create Evil?

This will make you think for a while.
At a certain college there was a professor with a reputation for being tough on Christians. At the first class, every semester, he asked if anyone was a Christian and proceeded to degrade them and to mock their statement of faith. One semester, he asked the question and a young man raised his hand.

The professor asked, "Did God make everything young man?"
He replied "Yes sir he did!" The professor responded,! "IF God made everything, then he made evil"

The student didn't have a response and the professor was happy to once again prove the Christian faith to be a myth.

Then another man raised his hand and asked, "May I ask you something, sir?""Yes, you may," responded the professor.

The young man stood up and said, "Sir, is there such a thing as cold?" Of course there is, what kind of a question is that? Haven't you everbeen cold?"

The young man replied, "Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. What we consider to be cold, is really an absence of heat. Absolute zero is when there is absolutely no heat, but cold does not really exist. We have only created that term to
describe how we feel when heat is not there.
"
The young man continued, Sir, is there such a thing as dark?" Once again the professor responded, "Of course there is."And once again, the student replied, "Actually, sir, darkness does not exist. Darkness is really only the absence of light. Darkness is only a term developed to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally, the young man asked, "Sir, is there such a thing as evil?"The professor responded, "Of course, we have rapes, murders and violence everywhere in the world, Those things are evil.
"
The student replied, "Actually, sir, evil does not exist. Evil is simply the absence of God. Evil is a term developed to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. It isn't like truth, or love which exist as virtues like heat or light. Evil is simply the state
where God is not present, like cold without heat, or darkness without light."

The professor had nothing to say................
Be full of Christ today, there is no room for anything else . .

God bless & hugs from Texas. {:-)

I don't believe God DOES give little children deadly diseases. Sure, they happen, but its the result of being in a fallen, sinful world.

My dear baby boy was one of those inflicted with a deadly disease. God allowed us 2 months to get to know our brave baby boy. He was born 7 weeks early at 5 lbs, 11 ozs. He was able to breathe on his own, feed on his own, have the strength to get through the first 2 weeks of his life without a diagnosis. Then the diagnosis came, and he managed to fight his way through another month and a half of chemotherapy. (He was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis). Every single report we have been given says that he should have been stillborn. His autopsy showed that his intestines were gone (though we knew this from surgery), and his liver was incredibly sick (this was suspected, but no one ever imagined just how sick it was). He NEVER should have taken one breath, let alone live 2 months. Did he experience pain? Yes. However, the 2 months he had were good ones. He got to know his mommy and daddy. He would track our voices, we would have to purposely leave for a few hours each day so he would sleep. He always wanted to be awake when we were around. We prayed every day that God would use our little boy. God did. He brought people together in prayer. People who hadn't prayed in a long time were praying for our baby. People we never met were praying for our baby. Several people came to know the Lord better because Joey's fight inspired him.

Joey had surgery on Oct. 11, where they found that his intestines were gone. He wasn't supposed to wake up for a couple of days, so we decided it was time to let him go. However, he heard us and woke himself up and took himself off of the ventilator. The doctor then warned us that it would take several days. We prayed that if it was Joey's time to go, that it would be quick and peaceful. 13 hours after surgery, before our decision to discontinue chemo would have any affect, Joey left us while I was holding him, and my husband was holding his hand. God answered our prayers. Joey is now happy and healthy, in Heaven. He doesn't have to experience anymore of the pain here on earth. Do I wish he was still here? Of course. I miss him everyday. But God is NOT to blame for my pain. do I know why God allowed him to experience this disease? No. but I do know that God didn't GIVE it to him. That's what faith is.

After all, what have little children done to deserve punishment or suffering? Nothing. Yet, they suffer. If God is all loving and all powerful, why doesn't He stop this injustice from happening?
It is true that God is good. His nature is holy and He is loving and patient. But, God is also just and wise. He created Adam and Eve and put them into the Garden of Eden and gave them dominion over the world. This dominion was not merely a functional one. It was also representational. In other words, Adam was the Federal Head over mankind. This means that Adam represented all of mankind.1 When he fell into sin, the Bible teaches that we fell with him (Rom. 5:12-21). Another way of looking at it is that Adam contained all of us in representative form, in his life and in His seed. When he fell, we inherited not only a sinful nature from Adam by simply being born, but we also inherited a world affected by sin as well.
What we inherited from Adam was not only a sinful nature, but also a world affected by sin: death, decay, disasters, etc. Furthermore, since we are made in the image of God and we are not robots without free will, God has given to us the stature and responsibility of managing what has been given to us. Therefore, God has given us a world that was good to begin with, but fell because of Adam. In this world, because we are like God in that we have responsibility and free will, we live with the consequences of our actions. Unfortunately, the consequences of sin is that sometimes the innocent suffer.
However, technically speaking, not even the children are innocent. The Bible says that all people are by nature children of wrath (Eph. 2:3). Like it or not, the sin of Adam is imputed, or reckoned to each individual that Adam represented the same way that the righteousness of Jesus is imputed, or reckoned to each individual that He represented. If someone wants to say that it is unfair for Adam to represent us in the Fall, then they must also conclude that it is unfair for Jesus to represent us on the cross. This latter case would mean that would not have salvation. This is why God set up the idea of representation, so that we could be saved. The seemingly unfortunate consequence of this is that it means we also must continue to suffer the effects of the failure that was begun by Adam.
Therefore, though God can intervene and stop people from suffering, and He probably does already without our knowing it, there are still those who will suffer in this world due to the effects of sin in people and on creation.

God doesn't give children diseases, this place is a temporary dwelling, and our bodies are temporary.

I know he answers prayer, I never had to question if he did or not.. I am living proof!
too bad that you have to question it.

KansasSpice:
my heart goes out to you! I just lost my niece (who I loved like my own daughter) thank you for sharing your story.
God bless you!

what in the hell makes you think that God would do something like that and as for answering my prayers he does when it fits his plan seeing a child suffer or die is awful but God did not do that to the child he loves that child and while others are busy hating God for the trials that we all must go through i bet you that child is not hating God but loving him and when and if that child dies and others are busy fussing at God because that child is no longer there with them that child is having the time of their eternity with who you might ask oh let me tell you that would be GOD

I believe the poor children have to suffer for the wrong doings of their parents. In a way the parents suffer too seeing their child ill.
