You remind me of a setting or a scene that happened long time ago specifically during Jesus Christ's time. The scene was recorded in the gospels where in a young man asked Jesus how he can go to heaven. My answer would be the same as what Jesus had said, help all those who are really needy. Better still have a bible study so you will know the requisites in going to heaven, that is if you are qualified. If not, there is also a promise place which will be like a heaven to us people, the paradise state of earth in the future. I do not believe you can go to heaven just by going to church. I'm going to heaven and here's how it happened to me. You must pray for forgiveness for all you sins that they will be forgotten. ever feel like somethings bothering you and you have the thought to pray? That's him. You must pray everyday with a humble heart and ask, mourn, weep whatever it takes. you must be able to give up all those things that he does not approve of ie...drinking, swearing, adultry, fornication etc...When you feel your lowest and your heart is aching and feel like giving up that's when it happens if you are holding nothing back. This is being born again. God does'nt speak and say you are saved. I had a flutter inside me and I knew he saved me. I felt the weight of the world was lifted from my shoulders. Remember you have to want salvation more than anything in the world. You must repent for your sins. Also remember that you do not accept the lord he accepts you. He died a terrible death for us and thats why i'm amazed at how anyone could think it's just a case of accepting him into your heart. the christian life is the easiest and most fulfilling life for me. I know when i'm at my lowest he will pick me up and row me over the tide. You can't say I'm a christian and do those things that you did all along for he also said it is better to never have known the way to salvation then to the same things you have done all along(sin). I'm going to a much better place after this life. Once you are saved (It took me 3 months of praying in my bedroom and closet )wherever you feel confortable. You can be saved anywhere. The church or pastures nor anyone else can save your soul. this is between you and god. Jesus did say it is good to meet with and and gather together in church as this is food for the soul because you need to hear the gospel. Read the new testament. This is what we live by. The old testament is lessons, prophoceys etc..Jesus did say we must always obey the ten commandments of the old testament but follow the new testament because the things that happened in the old testment such as a eye for and eye did not work. That's why jesus said I give you a new testament.
What a great feeling it is. If you can give everything to god and get salvation then you must be baptised. When I say everything I mean god must come before everyone and everything not second or third. God is not about money or possesions. Baptism is simply a fulfillment of the consience and a dying of the old person and being with christ. I'm not a minister. I'm just a person who cares about other people's souls. Why should a person be in hurry to go to heaven? Life is so beautiful. Just we need to put our little brain, some efforts and meagre hope. Think of heaven, you will be there.

Life in this century is full of pleasure. Life is fun. Life is great. Life has almost everything, you can imagine. Just few decades back, our ancestors could not even dream off for these things.

You have everything available on this earth. These are available to all common people. The things which were the privileges of kings and queens, are now available to all the people. You be patient, just do your job, put sincere efforts to enjoy life and experience heaven on earth. Why shoud you try to go from here in search of heaven, who knows whether you get heaven or hell?

Earlier people said, if there is heaven anywhere, it is in Kashmir. But now, it is not true. Heaven is now everywhere if you have resources and you have wisdom to enjoy them. So enjoy heaven here, do not look elsewhere.

The bible says a person must
1) hear the gospel. That is the good news that God sent us his son Jesus, who came into this world and lived among us. That he gave his life to save us by taking the punishment that we deserved. And that he conquered death by rising from the grave.
2)believe the gospel. It does NOT say that you must never again make a mistake or that you will never sin again. You and I will still slip up and sin. It does NOT say that you must get your life together first.
3) repent of your sins. Decide to turn away from those sinful behaviors. We will still sin , but we know that a price was paid for our sins
4) confess that you believe Jesus Christ is the son of God.
5)be baptized.in the name of the Father , the Son and the Holy Spirit. Thru baptism you spiritually die and are laid to rest; just as Christ was. You then are raised , as was Christ. Your sins are washed away. This does not earned you salvation. We cannot does something that makes us deserving of heaven. Rather we acknowlege that we are sinners who do not deserve God's mercy and simply accept that he still gives it to us for humbly asking.
Others may tell you that there is more than one way to get to heaven. They will say it is arrogant to say that only Christians can go to heaven. Decide for yourself whether it is more arrogant to A)read a book that is a couple thousand years old and change your life to try to conform to its teachings . or
B) to decide that you don't need all that stuff. That we are all free to decide what is right for ourselves(self righteous) and that we can go to heaven because we have each decided for ourselves that we lived lives that were good enough to get in. You might decide that since you have lived a better life than your neighbor a decent God would certainly let you in. If he doesn't it is clearly God who is at fault for being to strict or your neighbor for leading you astray. Most of modern society chooses B somehow.

Everyone of us are unique having a highest caliber and reasoning capacities to utilize that enable us to command our destination. Everyone is the actor/ess/ of his or her own destiny.
