I've asked my friend and they have said the same. Sometimes yahoo will just sit there on the "signing in as..." screen for like 5 minutes. WHY!?

It Depends upon the internet connection or sometimes the yahoo server is busy,thats why the problem arouse.

Because it is looking for files to put it simple all you have to do is make sure you have the latest Java and also you can reinstall yahoo messenger that should help. It is very buggy also

the server is slow. you may have to change your proxy setting to no proxies with firewall that works for me
